It's Official: It’s GMac

100%, would be a huge miss if the AD didn't capitalize on the hype and bring back those shirts. I believe Manny's was selling official G-Mac jerseys a few years ago. Can't find them online anywhere now, and kicking myself for not buying one back then.
Let's wait until he wins 10 ___ games!

;)

I don't think you'll have to wait very long. I'm sure you'll see them back in production and online and in stores pronto. I'm sure Gerry will be directing sales revenue to NIL.

Gerry said the GM position is absolutely gonna be filled, if I heard that right. He said it’s a pretty non negotiable at this position. He wants a guy who’s had experience recruiting and connections

Who doesn't? Again outside of the echo chamber of this online community I would bet people revere Melo just as much as GMAC. I will conceded that people probably find it much easier to relate to GMAC because Melo looks and moves like a super star athlete and has all the trappings of one. GMAC looks like a guy you would see at the pier fishing or hanging out shooting hoops at the local Y... So that probably explains why it seems like GMAC is more revered. The open question is going to be what an 16 year old kid and his family will relate to... I suspect parents will love GMAC, but will the kids?

What's funny is that GMAC is much more of a "killer" than Melo was... I think there is a an inner drive and will to win and succeed in GMAC that goes beyond way beyond what the normal elite athlete has. The true all time great coaches all have this characteristic... they don't accept anything less than 100% adherence to their directions and they hold people accountable if that's not there. This is why I am, and I'm sure a LOT of people are so excited about GMAC... I can't imagine him sitting around eeking out .500 seasons. I've said this earlier, but you see it when he is coaching when he is literally playing every play on the sidelines along with his players. I think with people like that burnout is a real risk as I don't know how a coach can maintain that level of intensity game after game... season after season.

When I look at GMAC I see a Pep Guardiola... reserved dudes, who were amazing and great players in their own right who maxed out their talents at a very elite level, but never true super stars. They are really nice guys who are quiet killers underneath the hood. If GMAC is 50% of the tactician and leader that Pep is we are in for an amazing run of success... that's the upside that I see. As someone said above... Ewing/Autry is the floor.
My feeling is Gmac's success will depend on whether he can get back to recruiting players , like DC, Stevie Thompson, Earl Duncan, Keith Hughes, Matt Roe. Billy Owen's, Dave Johnson, Leron Ellis, Red Autrey, Conrad McCrae, John Wallace.
Those were the type of players JB was recruiting before we went on the 1st probation. Gmac needs to get back close to those type of players to be successful.

I may have one custom made before Vegas with "10 Games" and "Overrated" both on the same shirt.

EDIT I posted something between the 10 and games and it was not the exact word, but I guess close enough that it wouldn't allow it. BUt you all know what i mean.

Interesting part of his upcoming meetings with the players. He said in the radio interview today that he watched every Syracuse game this season. He's not coming in blind.
Also has 'off the court standards' the players must uphold if they want to get on the court

He should get hazard pay from SU for that.

Live look in at GMac watching Cuse hoops games this past season:

Me too!

Very impressive interview. He has a process and went pretty in depth with a lot of answers.

And getting to work quickly and seems to be chomping at the bit to dive in with that process he talked about. He sounded like someone who was ready with a plan and vision for taking on a bigger job in general now just much sweeter it’s back at Cuse.
