Normally this is a great weekend of college basketball. Diving into all the ACC games to see who has to win or lose to see how it affects Cuse's ranking for the ACC tournament. Watching all the top 25 teams and bubble teams to see who we are rooting for and against to see how it affects where Cuse slots into March Madness. Bracketology was always one of my favorite things to go through and favorite time of year in general. Reading all the great posts that JN and others would spend an inordinate amount time preparing and even color coding all the teams. Don't think that wasn't noticed.

Instead Cuse is playing at Wake Forest on the CW in a game that means nothing except that it brings us one day closer to a new coach. I'll still watch it and root hard for a bunch of guys who might not be wearing Orange next year. And really hope that next year that all the stars align and Cuse is playing meaningful games in March again.

It just hit you today?

Orange Nation show on Friday didn't do any sort of preview of the matchup, it was like the team had another bye this weekend.
Well, in their defense, a new Chancellor, a new Athletic Director and a new Head Coach is infinitely more important than a game with two teams participating that will get steamrolled in the ACC tournament.

I don’t even care about basketball much this year and it’s my favorite sport. Barely watched the NBA this year as well. Some of it can be contributed to having other obligations, but I’m completely checked out on the sport.

College basketball is so good. I rarely watch NBA anymore but I watch a ton of college basketball a ton of it.

NBA is a foul-baiting mess like soccer; it isn't fun for me to watch.
You must not enjoy guys making baskets then. You should have watched the Celtics last night. 67% from the floor. Effective field goal percentage over 80. They had thirty (30) assists before the end of the 3rd quarter. It was amazing to see actual team ball.

The sadness hits everyone on their own timetable. I will miss college hoops at the end of our season
I will watch the tournament but with no passion. I will try and watch the women.

That game was insane

Indeed it's just wild to how the games are so inconsequential now

Against the Brooklyn Nets, the prime example of NBA tanking crap

Thank you for noting me in your post. Appreciate it.

I miss those 2009-2014 seasons when we discussed how high we could be seeded, and where might we play. And could make arguments against other great teams.

And while we made some light about our constant bubble status from 2016-2020, they were at least entertaining and always gave us multiple games to follow in February beyond our own.

Now its just following the NCAA, which has plenty of flaws.

Right. This year we could be discussing if we were going to be sent to Buffalo or Philly and then be miffed when the committee sent us to San Jose.

A 5:45 start time might be the most disrespectful thing I've ever seen

I made a similar post on the game thread.

At 5:40 today, I decided to finally take the effort to hit a few buttons on GameChannel to see when we played today (or if we had already played). I saw 5:45, and I was like "we really do suck".
