When did JB say that?We dont get him open looks? Huh? `now we are blaming the other players? any elite shooter in college should be over 50% on wide open 3s. JB just says anything at any moment he is old and does not care about the collateral damage.

His post game comments. Earlier in the year he said BB was missing open shots and just needed to make one more open one. Now it’s the other players fault. When did JB say that?
Agree we typically have 2s that can create like Triche, Battle, its always been a ISO offense. We have never been great at creating shots for shooters.
What he said is opponents are face guarding him and as a result he doesn't get many open looks. JB deserves blame for some things but this is 100% correct. We dont get him open looks? We could really use a slasher on this team that is good at drawing defenders and then kicking it out to shooters on the perimeter. Hughes was the guy who did it well last year. JGIII, Kadary and Alan do a lot of things nicely but none are currently good at slashing and kicking it out.If JB cured cancer you would be on here complaining that he apparently is fine with diabetes. He has said exactly these same things about other shooters in the past and he isn't wrong. It is his offensive scheme that fails to get the open looks, not that the players are doing a terrible job. He never said the players were at fault and he is correct that lack of open looks and poor shot selection have been huge impediment to BB and all our shooters over the past 4 or 5 years.
Yes, the team doesn’t get him enough open looks. And while execution is an issue, the main problem is that the head coach won’t design better more effective offensive sets. You have one of the best passers in college basketball in Marek and an experienced team and we still only run like 5 plays. We dont get him open looks? We’re around 38 in offensive efficiency, per KenPom. Sorry we should be top 20 in offense. We have the pieces to run good offense. It’s on defense where we have athletic and size limitations.Explain what scheme gets an open look for a shooter, since everyone thinks scheme is all it takes? if a team wants to face guard someone and that someone has a limited skill set, scheme is not gonna fix it to create shots.. Same thing happens in LAX.. if you want to shut someone down with a face guard others have to step up or that person has to have the kill set to beat it.
We get tons of open looks.. we dont tend to make them. we also force shots at times, we miss bunnies too. lots of bad things in our offense and yet somehow we still are one of the top teams in the league in scoring.. Scheme must be doing something right.
Cooney and Rautins worked to create their own open looks. Just saying.
I'm flashing back to how hard the asthmatic Trevor Cooney worked to get open. He ran around, through, past screens, through the lane, looped around the key... or am i just making that up? False memory?A player is responsible for cutting hard off of screens, creating space, making contested shots.
