JB retirement probability by season

If he recruits better he can stay as long as he wants. If recruiting stays the same he should be gone. It’s as simple as that. SU is spending $200 million to upgrade the Dome. Being stagnant and mediocre isn’t what the Board of Trustees is counting on. If season ticket sales drop, it signals the fan base is getting fed up.

I imagine he has a lot of factors to weigh in. His wife Juli is now without kids at home. His 3 kids are in college playing basketball. He will be 75yrs old this year. He also just had a life altering accident that claimed a life.

I think he would have to be 1000% certain to retire and leave Buddy.

But he also has two other kids that he doesn’t get to see as much. He has a wife who would probably love to have her husband at home helping with the foundation and whatnot.

He also has nothing left to prove as a head basketball coach. So he could leave now and still be regarded as one of the best to ever do it.
