really? in his position as the face of su? he should have been measured with his comments. everyone knows that including su.

You and Stan are both correct really. His emotion was natural, rational and indicative of "innocence" in the pertinent inquiry re: JB (did he know or have reason to suspect inappropriate conduct). And the fact that the allegations included a specific reference implicating JB further shows that. Many of us in that position would have done the same. But yes, he should have measured his words, without question, so an apology and appreciation for the seriousness of the new developments is appropriate. But terminating someone like JB for not being more measured? Pre the perfect storm that is Penn State, that notion would have been ridiculous. And given that the comments suggest that this is the polar opposite of Penn State in terms of what JP and JB knew, it is ridiculous for Penn State to control this situation. If that happens, it is the product of a bunch of people in the media not thinking this through logically but taking illogical quantum leaps and protesters who dont care about the logic but only want a forum to speak to their worthy cause. A perfect storm indeed. If JB's statement (whether today's or a more extensive one later) is on point as I hope, this should be viewed in a much different light.
