I wish I had a DeLorean too
That's very cool. Many kudos for the accomplishment. How long did it take you to get them all?#3151, finished on Marcy in 1994.
Didn't Paterno promise a statement or presser just before the PSU BOT announced his termination?

5 years, while I was in grad school. We did a few in winter, but I never thought seriously of trying for the Winter 46.That's very cool. Many kudos for the accomplishment. How long did it take you to get them all?

I think if it was CST we might already know.:rolling:
Marcy 94? Winter 46? What the hell are you guys talking about?
I did my 17 over two years in the early 70s and never made time to work on it more. I'm impressed. You certainly had to be dedicated. I've met a few people that have done it, though most were on the trail. They've always been impressive athletes. Well Done!!5 years, while I was in grad school. Adirondack high peaks
There are 46 mountains in New York State that are over 4000 feet in elevation. There are at least a couple of guys on the board that have climbed all 46...a very impressive feat.Second'd.
I see you hit the (-) button instead of the (+) button on your calculator watch...
whoa, a Marcy reference! its been a bitI read "peaks" and "marcy" and got sidetracked into fantasies.
Thx. Total thread hijack btw.I did my 17 over two years in the early 70s and never made time to work on it more. I'm impressed. You certainly had to be dedicated. I've met a few people that have done it, though most were on the trail. They've always been impressive athletes. Well Done!!
There have been plenty of threads & posts on the Bernie Fine situation. I had a chance to cheer for SU folks that have done something challenging & cool rather than something embarrassing, and think we need heroes to cheer for more than controversies any day. I'm guessing there are more 46's on the board but kudos to you and Orange46r. There have been millions of hikers in the Adirondacks and only something over 5000 people that have completed the high peaks. Two of those are posting here tonite. Thanks!!Thx. Total thread hijack btw.
I managed to knock out a lot quickly by going on grueling day hikes to bag the remote clusters in one day. Longest day was a 25-mile marathon to get all 4 of the Sewards, with about 16 of those miles off trail. 15 hours. We went up Seymour via the standard "slide" route, then bushwhacked straight down the backside completely off-trail and off-path even, back up the slide on Emmons, and back over the crest of the ridge hitting the other 2.
Also done a bunch of the slides, including the Eagle and Trap Dike. Looks like there are some nice new ones up there now.
lmao BKAnd Georgetown Still Sucks
