So instead of like 2 years ago when it seemed like almost every game was like a brain draining experience on a trip back to Division 2 football , we now have moments of yes we are somehow in this game on the road and might actually be able to pull it off despite ourselves.

Yes we have some brain drainine experiences where Mr Hyde shows up , like Butler not lined up on the line of scrimmage , or Dungey semmingly running a different play than everyone else on the fourth down , or the almost logic defying breakdown of Cole Murphy from a very competent kicker to one who maybe shouldn't see the field again

Yes the coaching decisions have shown some Dr Hyde qualities like the back to back running plays near the 10 yard line in the third quarter when Dungey and Steve specifically were shredding them just perplexed me.

Yet despite the issues that in the past may have lead to total embarrassing losses along the lines of Georgia Tech or other national TV embarrassing situations we have seen moments of not only respectable football but football that indicates we are capable of playing and coaching with anybody. The interview with Babers at halftime and the intense fire he showed and the way they came out and played in that quarter showed me that this coach gets it and his team gets him.

I wish we would have won both of these last two games and I don't believe in moral victories. I would also not be shocked if we still had another oh we lost to these guys games this year but, I just as easily could see a holy we actually beat these guys game coming up.

We have gone from first snap to last snap ineptitude in the last era , to moments of head shaking calls and poor descions to in the same game to saying bring on anybody we can play with them in the same game.

The transformation is happening to a respectable program again. This year was going to be a tough slog for this young team anyway. We are on our way back I think for real this time. I just think we are going to see alot of Mr, Hyde mixed in with our Dr Jekyll and while I won't be happy with it, I'm saying and seeing growth as a football team and right now I can live with it

I agree with most of your post, but will the be any people left in the dome by the time we get to the end of the process? It's not so much the losses, it's the stupid mistakes leading to the losses.

If we lose all the fans because they play hard, are improving, and just make mental mistakes... we can do better.

Crunch play a lot more games, less leaves to rake

People really still rake leaves in CNY?

Here in Ohio we have lawnmowers with mulcher's...poor excuse CNYr's...I haven't raked in 22 years !!

we dont make any more stupid mistakes than alot of other teams.. we just dont have the skill to over come them yet.

It is what it is.

It is what it is.

Just need to stop worrying about attendance. The people I talk to are a lot like the people on the board. They see the improvements and are warming to Dino.

Ok, I'll stop worrying. Place your next call to athletic office, I suspect they're worried.

They're not worried, they are profitable even with the last 10 year's attendance and are cashing ACC checks the last 4 years.

Attendance is a much broader issue than just Syracuse. It's happening countrywide to similar programs as well as programs that are currently better.

As far as football goes, it's all 'gon be alright.

I feel like this team is close to turning the corner. I hate the fact we keep losing close ones, but at the same time the fact we are playing close makes me feel a little better. Penalties need to stop, that is one facet of the game that we can prevent and need to get better at doing(I think this is a side effect of this team being very emotional). I'm really not too worried about this program, this is the first time in years I've felt we can start to compete at a high level.

It’s near impossible to really gauge attendance until you’re winning more than you’re losing. Upstream and without a paddle vs downstream with a paddle and some momentum. Then you look and try to fix what needs fixing
