Jerami Grant: Trailblazers

Grant has been out for a while now, with a facial contusion. His coach says he still has jaw and neck pain. Anyone know what happened to him?

Not a great season for him. Only averaging 15ppg. I wonder if the team is prioritizing their very young players, but that suppressed his trade value, and their window probably won’t be open while he’s under contract.

Guess it was in a collision during this game. Weird - Grant had him around the waist looks like he got hit in the face by Utah’s Yurtseven‘s head.

Wow he wasn’t starting?
He's been inconsistent the past year or so. It's crazy to me he's making over 30 million per year, while Lillard is making about 20 million less per year I believe. I guess I just don't understand how NBA salaries work...

Good for him.

Huge opening night for Jerami Grant last night. 29 points in 28 minutes off the bench. 10-14 from the floor.

He had a brutal last few minutes in that game on the defensive side, though. Two Wolves basically shoved him to the floor and converted buckets on him at crunch time. He was pulled in the last minute because of that.

Maybe one or both should have been called offensive fouls, maybe one should have been a flop—either way, not ‘strong’ D.

Lillard is making around $70 million this year if I'm not mistaken. Milwaukee is paying him a ton; that's why he signed with Portland for so little.

Yeah Lillard's contract this year is ~70mil and is being paid by both Milwaukee and Portland (with most of it coming from Milwaukee). Regardless of where it is coming from, he is getting 70 mil and likely not going to play in a game all season.

I'm sure Grant will have his fair number of starts this season as guys miss games, but Avdija is probably their best player and they like Toumani Camara a ton so both forward spots are mostly spoken for unless Camara takes a step back this year for some reason. Still plenty of need for scoring on that team though so Grant will have a lot of opportunity.
