Was that the play to end the 3rd Q? Because Smith had a 6 yard run to end the 3rd. AAM got the bulk of the carries in the 4th. Didn't need to use Smith in the 4th, especially if he was dinged.

Could be. He ran on 2nd down. Got up limping, started to come off the field. Waved to the coaches he was fine. Ran it on 3rd and 1 and didn't get to the line even. Never came back.

I think if there was/is a player that deserves 44, its Smith. I for one would be enormously pleased to see him wear it.

If I'm reading the SU Athletics website correctly, since he missed more than 2/3rds of the 2010 season due to injury he should be able to use that as a redshirt year, no?

I didn't realize he had missed that much time. In that case, I think you're right.

Jerome's had a solid season and is probably going to top 1000 yards. Nice achievement.

I don't meant this to be a knock on Smith, but as well as he's done as a starter, I think our most talented backs are behind him.
