Post Game Notre Dame

I think the only reason to boo your own team is if it appears that effort is lacking.

If they are hustling, even if inept, they should not be booed.
I boo twice at least in games and it's always for football. When the opposing team comes out of the locker room at the beginning of the game and at ACC refs.

I just strongly disagree with booing your own players. It seems to be the height of poor sportsmanship. I would never boo the Bills either. It’s hurtful. Why do that to a team you support? My brain and heart don’t get it.

HOWEVER, there are many people on this board who feel differently than I do and you are one of them. This is a place where we express our feelings.

I have never been in an argument with anyone on the basketball board lo these many years. It’s kind of exciting.

I absolutely approve of ref booing if they deserve it, and it seems they often do.

Since there isn't much discussion elsewhere, I'll go ahead and toss my hat in the ring here. I'm with Beadle on this. The only exception, as some have pointed out, is when a player shows an obvious lack of effort. The other exception, which is similar, is when a player throws a tantrum towards his teammates or coach. Here's looking at you Mr. Bell and last year's Benny.

The thing that a few are saying is that it's a fan's right to boo. They paid their hard earned money to attend and made the effort to watch the game. With that, I'd say of course it's their right. You're almost always allowed to act like an ass, show disrespect towards others, and to be mean spirited. I just disagree personally with that approach but others can certainly do what they want.
