This assumes everyone is eligible for a bowl game. Jerry points out in the footer that there are 76 teams playing for 74 bowl slots (he eliminated the bowl games between conferences that are not playing).

Only ECU and Arkansas are not projected to go to a bowl. In his projection, 35 teams or so will go bowling with a losing record. I am sure he is projecting Syracuse to have a losing record if he has us going to Boston.

I would be really surprised if almost all the bowl games are played this season. Can't see them able to make any money with few or no fans allowed to attend the games. Almost all were struggling financially even before COVID.

The big ones will be played but the ones that pay peanuts are probably going to sit this year out. Especially given they will be matching up teams with records like 2-9 and 3-8.

All of this assumes that there will be bowls outside the playoff. I haven't seen a statement by any sponsor that they're willing to have their bowl, especially since attendance will be limited and the whole idea behind bowl games is to fill hotel rooms and restaurant seats.
