He’s really improved greatly there too - it’s where most of his blocks are occurring. He’s a real difference maker.

He's the reason our defense is even putting up a fight.

If we were to lose him, it would be catastrophic.

The only issue on that corner three coverage is that if he doesn't get the block or alter the shot, we're exposing ourselves. With that said, not sure we have any other options with the lack of defensive ability for our other starters.

His defensive BPM is so far ahead of everyone else that it's almost comical. I know the defensive advanced stats can be muddied a bit, but it matches the eye test. To put it in perspective, these are our starters' DBPM:

Jesse: 2.9
Cole: 0.2
Joe: 0.0
Buddy: -0.8
Jimmy: -0.8

Jesse is playing really well. We should get more Dutch players. Hardest thing is to get them to stop sticking their fingers in busted dikes.
Careful now.

None of the dikes are busted.
Lots of US areas could learn a lot……

He apparently made a gargantuan leap this past year as he wasn't a viable option over Marek at Center.

He has steadily improved over the last 2 seasons. And marek was a better option all around than Jesse.

He should’ve mostly played the 4. IMO.

Frustrating that we had the pieces to be big and reasonably athletic, and pretty good offensively, but didn’t really put the puzzle all the way together.

Q? Jesse wasn’t as good as Q either.

Some (many) teams will play bench guys as much as starters. We have done so at times. “Not about who starts, but who finishes”, no?

Something like:
Kadary
Buddy
Griff
Q
Edwards

Girard as the primary guard sub.
Braswell as the primary wing sub.
Marek as the primary frontcourt sub?

With the minutes a bit more evenly distributed amongst those 8 than they were….might’ve been able to plug some holes and fix some weaknesses with better mixing and matching?

I don’t doubt that Edwards improved a lot last year. But from a guy who got a lot of DNPs(while we played an often overmatched kid at center) to arguably the best player on the team?

You’re projecting backwards. Edwards was not the player last year that he is today. Marek may have been the most important player on the team. Jesse was not going to play over Marek nor Q nor should he have.
