Jesse Edwards Out For The Season

This is incoherent, fyi.
Is it? It was attached to the Boeheim interview. The comment was “this guy” Boeheim, “knows almost as much as the posters on this board”. That was a reference to all the “drunk guy at the end of the bar” type comments on this board criticizing a brilliant basketball mind. I was being sarcastic. Then I echoed some of the inane commentary by stating that he had too many Buddy references in the interview. That paralleled much of the “coaches son” criticisms here. Can you really add to the base of my information? I seriously doubt it. I do understand this is a message board where strong views and commentary are accompanied by the thoughts of fools and knaves. Now leave the grown ups alone.

Do the grown ups know how message boards work? You hit reply to my post which mentioned none of the above.

No. The grown ups are too old for this. Sorry. Mi malo

listening to that interview..JB mentioned AJAK

jimmy cant stop anyone as a defensive center

hes been dunked on a lot as a PF this year

sounds to me its gonna be frank, sidibe, ajak/jimmy at the C now...which doesnt seem to have JB too worried honestly
It should scare him to death

I haven't had time to keep up with this thread, so this has probably been said. But in what was likely a lost season anyway (by the standards JB set over the years), this brings development opportunity for Frank and Benny.

Frank immediately, and obviously. But Benny when Frank undoubtedly gets into foul trouble and Jimmy is at the 5. Doesn't help for this year, but should help for next.

I'm trying.

Try harder.

I'm lighting a candle at my JB prayer shrine for this one. I really hope the rest of the team can step up their game and match the level of intensity that Jimmy and Buddy are playing with right now. One thing is for sure, coach has carte blanch to blame Jesse for every loss from here on out.

For stats purposes... Cuse has been 8 points per 100 possessions better on offense with Jesse out there on the court, but the defense has actually been better with Frank in the middle by about 3.5 points per 100 possessions...Net loss of four points per 100 possessions is significant but the bigger issue is what happens when Frank isn't in the game

The 102 possessions with neither Frank or Jesse in the game (Excluding garbage garbage time), Cuse's defensive rating would be worse than any team in the whole country (limited sample but scary signal)

They guard the rim and the mid-range better with Frank in (on/off splits can be a bit noisy and not that predictive, but that is what they say)

Well, if I'm interpreting what I'm hearing correctly from the coaches, Sidibe was kept on the shelf largely because Jesse became such a viable player and Frank was growing into a solid backup. They didn't want to work Sidibe hard just to play spot minutes. He may be able to have a larger role than it first appeared to be the case.

Well this is not good, but someone may step up, because they have to. I certainly hope they answer the call of necessity. I will be rooting for anyone taking those minutes.
I hope Jesse heals with no deleterious effect, he has been a bright spot this year.

Time to turn the page and focus on next season. The pressure of making the tourney is definitely off now. Benny, the training wheels are off...go play and have fun and don't worry about making mistakes. Same with Frank and JBA. It's all about development now.
Benny already plays like he is not worried about making mistakes.

JB is so strong so good during tough situations. Its one of his best qualities. Hes already positioned the kids to move forward. Everyone preaches next man up. JB actually knows how to get his players to buy into it.

That's great but this is the only player we could never lose - he is our entire defense - and our only offense in the paint - with that said it comes pretty late in the season - a season that was over after the loss to Colgate - so it aint the end of the world - hopefully Williams and Frank can get a bunch of mins to build some sort of future

Was Virginia's season over when they lost their opening game to Navy? Apparently not.

Dont get me wrong. My comment on how JB handles situations like this in no way shape or form means we are going to overcome a loss of a key player. I simply like and respect his approach to the situation.
