I've always lived in the NYC area, and with Melo there now I started to follow a bit. But now with Lin doing what he is doing, I feel compelled to watch every game. I think I'm an all out Knicks fan now. This is just an unbelievable story unfolding before us.

crazy cool. Did you hear the rival teams fans cheering for their own loss and for Lin when he hit that balls ass shot...the lead up to the shot was epic. What a phenomenom, I'm not sure I've ever seen so many cheer for the other guy/team before.

The lead up to that shot was Achilles vs the Giant (Troy) epic. One on one, everyone else backs off, as the crowd stands, clock ticks down and Lin delivers the kill shot. Unreal how cool that was.

I think they will be fine. Melo knows what the deal is and the fact he actually tweeted back to a fan who said hes worried about Melo coming back means hes hearing it. Pick n Roll with Lin/Chandler, Lin/Amare with the penetration and dump off to Melo if they collapse to stop the pick n roll could be unstoppable.

It will be more than fine. Melo is much more of a team offense guy than Amare is. If anything it is Amare that could be the problem (but he wont be either).

Amare might need a guy to set him up but he is also a black hole on offense. He is the epitome of a ball stopper. Melo is averaging over 4 apg this year (career high i believe). melo might be a great iso player but he is also a willing passer. Amare is not.

People are mad that Melo played point forward miserably and they werent winning. Melo hasnt gotten a chance to play with Lin and I think hes going to mesh very well with Lin. (Melo went to D'Antoni and pushed him to play Lin). The reason Melo was such a black hole was because he tried to get other involved but...THEY SUCKED. Noone could hit a shot and even Amare was and still is playing like garbage this year. Not having a pg killed this team. Someone called them the headless horsemen which I loved as a description. Melo is the least on NY's problems...im beginning to be worried about Amare.

100% this right here. Lin can get into the lane very well, too, leaving shooters on the perimeter. And though I like Melo getting the ball to the rim and to the foul line, he will be taking many more open shots from 15-20 feet that he can drain all day. Not to mention, that kick to Melo is going to get all the attention of the remainder of the defenders on the perimeter and one swing pass will get a bunch of other open shots for his teammates.

Melo is really taking a bashing right now. I think he is going to come back and make the team that much better. He will make an effort to move the ball, with all this attention on the situation. This might be the best thing that could have happened to Melo. After 8 years...I think we all realize he needs help. He's not a guy who can just carry teams through playoff series on his own consistently. His volume shooting schtick was growing tired in NY... not a recipe for winning.
