He is 79 years old, how long do you want to wait?JB does deserve a huge tribute (statue, gifts, etc) but I wish his day would be in a few years after we have had some time to reflect on and appreciate his career accomplishments more.
Time would also give the Syracuse program a better chance to be in a better place and the game could actually mean something.
How about 90 or maybe let's just wait until he is no longer with us. That way, as a community, we can all come together to appreciate and celebrate his contributions without him.He is 79 years old, how long do you want to wait?
Just me but I wanted a day just for JB, with no game but just a day for him.How about 90 or maybe let's just wait until he is no longer with us. That way, as a community, we can all come together to appreciate and celebrate his contributions without him.
Gotta make people stay.ESPN has "Jim Boeheim Celebration" listed for 2pm on ACCNX. So its going to be after the game?
It'll help if we win the game.Gotta make people stay.
I remember everybody googling "William Payne" after he said it and this came up,Does William Payne know what Jim is planning on saying?
Correct. From what I’ve heard, it will be about a 30 minute presentation. The bigger event will be the banquet that evening at Drumlins.ESPN has "Jim Boeheim Celebration" listed for 2pm on ACCNX. So its going to be after the game?

JB isn't exactly young. You don't wait too long to do these things. Why would they do this in Red's first year? I am at a loss to understand...
He hasn't even been retired for 12 months.
Ideally, it should have been done at the end of last year, but things got a bit complicated. Why would they do this in Red's first year? I am at a loss to understand...

I think the timing of this is perfect whether it was planned or not. This was a major transition and I think that we’ve reached a point of acceptance. I see Saturday as the day when the keys officially get turned over to Autry and is embraced as the ‘Head Coach’ and Boeheim is officially embraced as the ‘emeritus’ figure to the program. Why would they do this in Red's first year? I am at a loss to understand...

I actually would argue that the longer you wait, the more disrespectful it looks. Why would they do this in Red's first year? I am at a loss to understand...

He’s like 80, I’m assuming they don’t want to honor him when it’s difficult for him to get around or something more grave. Why would they do this in Red's first year? I am at a loss to understand...
