when talking about NIL and new transfer rule. I get it. I'm an older fan now and the fallout from this stinks for me. I just sat back to look at our team and realizes that 2 of our 3 best players from last year are playing for another school. This is unprecedented and blows.

Oh well.

Think it’s why Roy left and K is done after this year.

We're going to agree to disagree on that one. I always love our kids but all things being equal would you trade Kadary and Quincy for Cole and Jimmy?
I mean, my opinions on Cole Swider are not positive, based on all of the Villanova basketball I've seen. But that's not the point. The point is that if Boeheim hated it as you suggest, there's no reason for him to stick around.

This will be his last year.

You don't know him very well do you? Do you have any idea how many things he's hated that he's stuck around for anyway in his 40+?

It's hard to read. I mean to me if your governing body has provided very little guidance on it and what they have provided isn't all that great, it's a frustrating thing to run a program without that clarity and thus something does need to change. He isn't wrong hinting towards the NCAA not being what is needed and we have all seen the NCAA screw the pooch consistently.

I mean you have kids unclear on the rules de-committing because they want to the be recruited using NIL which isn't allowed ( see reminder with Penny Hardaway).

So while it is good for the kids and belongs, there needs to be some guidance better than what we have.

Two very good reasons to expect JB to stick around

I love that you guys think that this is some kind of message board bombshell.
Why would anyone think that?
Stated the obvious reason that the "JB has no reason to stick around comment" makes no sense.
BOOM, I guess. ;)

You have to say, the 2 new guys are better from 3, although less athletic.
But I think Jimmy will be surprisingly good.

I think we saw the best of Quincy.
I think Quincy thinking he has to be able to show the NBA he can make a 3 is the same thing that hurt Oshae Brissett his second year with us. Brissett was better his first year.

Unfortunately, I think you're right about Quincy. I really hated to see him go, I mean really hated it. However, if he wasn't going to accept his role, he needed to go. I also don't blame Q - he wants to play in the NBA and if he doesn't show he has an outside shot, there's no way. I don't know enough about Brissett, but seems like that was sort of the case as well. The departure that gets me a bit hot under the collar was our best pg.

That was a self inflicted wound ..

Change is rarely easy.
And the NIL situation is uncharted territory.
There's always the law of unintended consequences that will generate results few, if any, of us ever anticipated.
No coach can be happy with the uncertainty...let alone one who's been around for 46 years without this.

Sometimes an effect is cumulative.
