Why do people keep saying he shouldn't have said this publicly? Why not? Who cares?

I figured ESPN or Yahoo would have a "Boeheim calls Barkley 'idiot'" headline/sidebar and then everyone would forget about it 2days later. But right now there's not even that.

Is this really a big deal? JB and Barkley are friends and they joked with each other in the past and given their history, I wouldn't take this anymore seriously than JB saying "Barkley is ugly"

Barkley called out his specialty in basketball, the zone and ripped it by saying it was the easiest defense to play against. Obviously this is not true in college, or else we would not regularly rank among the countries best in defensive statistics. Pretty stupid thing to say on national TV when you have zero facts to back it up. But most of Barkley's opinions fit that bill, especially when it comes to CBB.

It is not the easiest defense to score against in the pros either. They did not make it illegal because it was easy to score against. The fact that Charles knows the pro game, makes his statements about the zone even more moronic.

Barkley is there for entertainment, plain and simple. He and JB are alike in that both speak their mind without filter, and neither one of them cares what people think about them. JB calling him an idiot is harmless, they are friends and he is just jabbing him back for the dumb comments he is making.

I have to give Barkley some credit for last year remember at halftime of the Arizona game when the Cats were behind he was the only one who claimed they would come back and win. Thn AZ came back and won. Not saying he knows college basketball well however he has more knowledge about the game of basketball then anyone on this board does. I think we just have such thin skin as SU fans we just pile on to people who don't have us winning it all which at this point seems to be most of America.

Meh, I don't have us winning it all either but I don't act like that's a bold prediction. "___ is gonna lose at some point" is usually a pretty safe bet in the tournament.
