What kind of coach lets a 27.9% three point shooter huck up 10 attempts from beyond the arc? Now shooting 26.5% for the year but has taken 132 shots!!!

Someone needs to tell JJ that the ball cannot go through the basket if the apex of the trajectory is less than 10 feet above the height of the floor.

Answer: a bad coach.

JJ 1-10 from three, the rest of the team was 8-12, and it’s not like JJ has been a great outside shooter who had a bad night.

I honestly can’t comprehend how that can happen on a team with a coach, literally any coach. Even if we have significantly better players I don’t trust Red to have a game plan to win. Not to mention defense and substitutions.

Not surprised, not mad, just sad. It’s hard to believe what Syracuse basketball has become.

He must have gone to the same shooting guru as Benny “shot flatter than the return on a T-bill” Williams.

Amazing stats from the game

The team minus JJ
Shot 23-37 overall and 8-12 from three . In fact one of the greatest shooting nights in team history excluding his “contribution”.

Maybe someone can come up with an algorithm to help him

This has been so stupid all year

Wildhack needs to be fired if autry comes back

Same thing with the NY Football Giants. I understand the disadvantages of having revolving coaches but if next season you don't make the playoffs or the NCAAT, everyone needs to go. Bring in someone with a winning culture.

I've seen enough.

JJ has to be loving it. He doesn't have to guard anyone, has free rein to shoot as often as he wants, and never had to worry about PT.
Modern athletes are too nice. Old school JJ would be getting beat up in the locker room. Gunners who don't guard. Yikes

This is one thing that Boeheim did a good job with over the years. He would insist that players played within their role that "he" defined. When a guy bucked back, he would usually find himself on the bench.

JJ is just a volume shooter who seems to only focus on total points scored rather than %. Without him chucking up 10 3's last night, we win. Does he not understand that the opposing team WANTS him to take those shots. It's exhausting.

I would be stunned if Red moves on from JJ. He constantly says he's one of the best guards in the country, which he is not. I think the best we can hope for is JJ is demoted to a role player who is the fourth option on offense and is surrounded by good defenders including a center who can erase shots in the paint.

He is a LOSING player. Not only shooting us out of the game but the wild out of control drives late in games that he never scores on, when he gets fouled on them he misses the FTs, and complete lack of defense.

We HAVE to move on from him. Let someone else take him.

144% THIS.

The net positives of a player like JJ or Bell, are always far outweighed by the massive NET NEGATIVES.

JJ is basically this generation's Buss Patterson, only with an infinite green light and zero repercussions.
and Buss at least was a decent defender -

JJ makes traffic cones and folding chairs look like "the glove" Gary Payton

I would really like to keep JJ if, and this is a big IF, he would play within our offense, which includes no more 3pt chucking. I think JJ could be an important piece if he could/would modify his approach to the game. The problem is that I don't have confidence this would happen. If it comes down to JJ playing his way or no JJ, I'd take no JJ.

Yes, and I think JJ fails to understand the impact of all of his misses. It's like the guy only looks at game pts. So, he just chucks and chucks and chucks.
