Nothing before the end of the shot clockYes. Certainly not 7 a game. He’s basically Josh Pace at this point offensively.

If you actually go back to act 2 there are plenty of us saying, uh, looks like this guy can't shootA play in three acts:
Act I: JJ committed to Notre Dame? That sucks.
Act II: JJ is transferring to Syracuse? CHAMPIONSHIP!
Act III: I hope JJ transfers somewhere else for his Senior year.
Pretty sure Gmac was the guy who got him turned around last year based on articles on .com. I am not sure we have anyone whos nearly the same shooting coach left based on our ft percentage. Also, how are they not fixing his shot?
I can't imagine being that kind of athlete playing basketball and not even trying to imitate good shooters.
At least we didn’t have two other guys who were 6 for 9 from three.
Oh wait, we did.
My thoughts exactly. Josh's FG% was 53% to JJ's 43% (this year at 41%). That's pretty big. A large part of why Josh shot at 53% was because he didn't shoot 3s and I'm sure Boeheim made it very clear to NOT take that shot no matter how open he was. Please do not tarnish my memories of Josh Pace. JJ is not near the player Pace was.
I've said it many times before, but one of Boeheim's greatest strengths was making sure that (a) the best scorers took the most shots, and (b) all players took the "right" shots. My thoughts exactly. Don’t think it solves everything just puts your player and team in the best position you can. It’s easy to Monday morning QB and look at what other coaches do. You start winning all of the Monday morning QB’ing goes away. Everybody is looking for a solution to win, judging players, substitution patterns, X’s and O’s, coaches, etc…Think NIL and money at stake add to the urgency as development of players and coaches is out the window. Think every fan base does the same And generally this is a great fan base. So, you would tell JJ Starling, under no circumstance...even if you're wide open, do not shoot a 3? I'm sure you would have been an incredibly successful head coach if you had just taken that path.
I think you nailed it and I'm guilty of it also sometimes. It can be hard to admit that not every star high school player becomes a star in college. Not everyone can make that leap, just like the NBA draft has busts also.Fans have a difficult time giving up on highly rated HS players. The reverse is also true. They don’t give lower rated HS players nearly as much leeway.
Ha, everywhere fans just want to win and we have a spoiled fan base who wants the dome rocking and playing in big games.Inmates clearly run the asylum in this nut house
