I saw on twitter Nick Aquino said Filardi was the guy Fran is referencing. And I completely agree. I remember posting about it in his thread here, his hudl tape blew me away for a PWO. It was my favorite I watched between him Belin and Carney. He doesn’t blow you away physically, def doesn’t have the strongest arm but his timing, accuracy, touch, are all great

Sounds like Greg Paulus... who would win a lot with the offensive weapons we have currently

Joe was the best player in New York State high school football the last two seasons. He has some Doug Flutie in him. Has a knack of making things happen.

It’s one thing to totally dominate Long Island high school football and another to do it at the college level.

Let’s see what the kid has got.

I don't think so. If 5 guys were injured and didn't play and were not listed on the injury report, that would be a problem. But having a coach decide on different QB is just strategy imho.

Gait is going to pisssssed. Wonder how much of FB’s 20 million share got exchanged for this to occur? Just kidding. Really hope it works out. His videos look like he makes things happen. Plus will be a great story for the brand and NYS football. Will create mass exodus from the QB room and allow a reload….which is ok if at least 3 of the pieces can not make the system go.

If nothing else, it will certainly be interesting to see how this plays out for Joe and Luke. Kind of ironic it will be on Halloween night, in a nationally televised game, with BB on the sidelines. Would we want it any other way?

Interesting. Is it misleading if we start QB#2??? Not sure how far this must go. You went with QB#4 before QB#3? What is really the point with a depth chart 4 days before a game anyway?

I know the kid is also going to be playing lacrosse, but I believe this is the player Fran was referencing in his interview today — Joe Filardi. From what I’ve seen, his high school tape is extremely impressive and very polished, showing advanced mechanics, excellent field awareness, and a natural feel for the game. He looks like someone who could step in and make an immediate impact if given the opportunity.
Over the summer, he added the weight and strength he needed to handle the physical demands at the next level, which makes me even more confident in his ability to contribute right away. He’s a multi-sport athlete, which speaks not only to his athleticism but also to his competitive nature and coordination — traits that often translate well for quarterbacks.
If Rickie or Luka struggle at any point in the Georgia tech game , I would love to see Joe get a series or two on the field. He has the skill set to provide a spark for the offense and could really energize the team. Having a polished, physically ready quarterback like him waiting in the wings is a big asset, and I think he could make an immediate difference if the situation calls for it.

I don’t know if it’s more so Belin and Carney suck (Jakhari may be too behind at this point) but that Filardi is that good and was vastly underrated out of HS. As mentioned off hudl film alone his tape was by far the best to me out of the 3. He has skills that can translate to this level as a passer / processor and maybe he’s progressing way faster than anyone thought.

Joe is a really good athlete who can do some things the other QBs cannot. He is super mobile, can run the option, and excels rolling out and throwing on the run.

With our OL troubles, it is hard to win with a traditional pocket passer. Joe will give our offense a very different look. Let’s hope he gets an chance and hope it works.

All this kid need to do is throw the ball on time . Be mobile in the pocket and get the ball to our elite playmakers.
