TBH this season is trending about the way we expected it. We knew it would be tough to even get a bowl.

Angeli went out and played lights out and got people thinking...and then was crushed by the injury.


To be completely transparent, this got me thinking and beyond excited for the 26/27 seasons, especially with the recruits we have coming in and the players who are so young on this team getting valuable playing time this season, in a season with not a lot of pressure due to how its unfolded.

These young true freshman are going to be experienced red shirt freshman next season and thats a huge advvantage.

Agree 1000% with the last point. If he plays against BC, he better have the freedom to throw the ball.

But to the first one, if he looks good, I think people will just feel more comfortable about having a backup plan next year. I don't think there will be a lot of 'what if' analysis of this season.

Yes, I will continue to mock how we had to pull him for 3rd and 9 against Pitt because that was too far, but end of the day, just want more answers for next year.

I can accept the narrative that they needed to preserve Carney's redshirt, but the way he's been used is still baffling.

Why don't they play Breslin? He is a bit more accomplished as a HS QB than Filardi, and I suspect he
could probably go out and post a stat line that exceeds 4-18, 39 yards, qb rating 1.8; 7 carries, 8 yards,
2 fumbles, 1 lost, sacked 4 times. He might be running for his life most of the game, but he might be
able to do that, as he I think is an actual scholarship football player, not a walk-on.

The staff needs to stop wasting games playing guys who have no business at the QB spot and then
combining that with a game plan that they can't execute. What's the point?

Why don't they play Breslin? He is a bit more accomplished as a HS QB than Filardi, and I suspect he
could probably go out and post a stat line that exceeds 4-18, 39 yards, qb rating 1.8; 7 carries, 8 yards,
2 fumbles, 1 lost, sacked 4 times. He might be running for his life most of the game, but he might be
able to do that, as he I think is an actual scholarship football player, not a walk-on.

You saw collins for 5 games and we didn’t score an offense touchdown with him for 8 straight quarters in a row, but rather see him then let filardi get another look? Even if it was a garbage time touchdown at least he got us some points on the board last game.

I suppose. Just saying that if Carney looks TOO good... the narrative is going to be how he might have kept us in a few games during this stretch of consecutive blowouts.

After playing us, Georgia Tech has given up 82 points to NC State and BC. We scored 16.

Duke has given up 17+ points to every team it has played, including Elon. 6 games giving up 30+ points. We scored 3.

The SMU game is one of the few where we scored more against them (18) than some other P4 schools. BC, Stanford, and Wake Forest (a loss for SMU). And we were down 31-3 before they let up.

Only BC scored less against Pitt. Well, Duquesne also. Duquesne had 9 to our 13.

I mean... our offense has been embarrassingly bad. FCS teams have been almost as effective against our opponents as us post-Angeli. If Carney puts up 20+ points (2TDs, 2 FGs)... even against BC... there will be questions as to why he did not play more.

And if they play him but don't let him pass... then why play him at all??

People worry far to much about what ifs rather than what is.

Right, but you cannot criticize the coaches responsible for all of this. We need to just eat whatever we are served and be glad that we are eating.

They are setting everyone up to fail. Collins was set up to fail... #1 out of Spring... kept it close to Angeli in camp...terrible play calling. Carney... let's burn a game on one play... here is a drive... looks good... yanked...insulted... moves the ball against Pitt... yanked again. Filardi... build hype, throw him to the wolves against UNC without very very easy passes to start and very very bad stats by game end.
