I can't fathom why Joe is the starter this week, and not Belin or Williams or Carney, unless some/all are transferring. Carney says he's coming back and maybe he gets the BC game. The rest - who knows.
I wish Joe the best, but this is about a tough a situation as one could be thrown into. Let's hope for a complete 180 in performance!
I think you have most of this right minus a few details we've heard. Some things are so obvious in hindsight: they bought all the HS hype on Collins. Thats why they landed him in the portal. He got to camp, and the coaches, and Pena all realized he wasn’t going to cut it. The staff knew the other guys were development guys, not ready to play. They missed on him, just like every school who offered him. (Are people really surprised HCFB didn’t announce to the world that Collins stinks, so we are QB shopping?)
They went out and got Angeli. Problem solved. Then he got hurt. Problem resurfaced.
Yep, and it was pretty evident as soon as Pena pulled the ejection seat. Some things are so obvious in hindsight: they bought all the HS hype on Collins. Thats why they landed him in the portal. What choice is there for ND? Collins would be an exercise in futility. Can't play Carney so that he can redshirt. We'll see Carney against BC.People talking themselves into JF. Lol
It was unnecessary for them to lead us to believe the QB competition was so close. Sometimes it is better to say nothing! Truth is, they didn’t know at the time, that we were going to find out! Some things are so obvious in hindsight: they bought all the HS hype on Collins. Thats why they landed him in the portal. Not me (if that was directed at me), but who else do we havePeople talking themselves into JF. Lol
Nah: build your guy upIt was unnecessary for them to lead us to believe the QB competition was so close. Sometimes it is better to say nothing! Truth is, they didn’t know at the time, that we were going to find out!

As a this year or next year answer, no. Nobody is saying that.People talking themselves into JF. Lol
Not my guy. Not really an all in FB guy. I have no dog in the fight. I’ve watched enough to know that Collins has no business being a P4 QB (at least at this time). I surmise the Jakari must be absolutely atrocious to not be in the mix. Evidently, the coaches think that Filardi gives them a better chance to win than Collins (who gives us zero percent chance to win. A math genius might be able to quantify how much he actually helps the other team to win). Carney: haven’t really seen him do much.Nah: build your guy up

He probably didn’t understand him because of his strong creole accent.STILL can't believe Collins is so bad he gets beat out by a true freshman walk-on. I wonder what Brian Kelly said to Fran prior to Collins' transfer. Fran got fleeced!
This is a great post. Multiple levels to the joke.He probably didn’t understand him because of his strong creole accent.
Could be he’s way down the chart in practice, knowing he’s a redshirt, and therefore isn’t getting a lot of pt even with the scout team?I figured as much about the redshirt even though most posters seemed to say redshirts don't matter, burn it. But if the kid came in with the plan of redshirting and was sold on that well...
But I can't say i agree with not giving him much to do in a game just because he's redshirting. That doesn't make sense to me. You play to win and you and him both want to get him valuable experience. And If he's good and plays good then maybe he changes his mind and wants to play. So not sure i would buy that the reason he didn't have much of a workload is solely because of the redshirting thing.
that caricature looks more like Babers than Brown and the LSU guy looks like the Tank McNamara sports cartoon
Get over it. Football coaches don’t tell the whole truth. I take as old as time. They hold back tactical information to keep the opponent guessing, in this instance Tennessee. I mean, I do not want my HC modeling himself after George Washington.Find it annoying that we were told Carney wanting to red shirt was not the reason he wasn't playing and that the QB competition between Angeli and Collins was so close.
