Maybe the Big East should just be true to its real purpose in all of this and be called the "Minor League Conference for the BCS Conferences." Honestly, its as if they are adding anyone and everyone just to park while they try and get more mileage out of the BCS spot. I still believe that as long as ND is involved, they lean on the BCS to keep a spot open for the Big East. Why do they do that? Because they are ND and feel like they can lean on the rest of college football.

I learned many years ago that it makes no sense to keep banging your head against a wall when you see blood on your forehead. The Big East should take a good look in the mirror and kill itself so its members can either join other all-psorts conferences (Louisville, Cincy, UConn, RU and USF) or form their own basketball-only league (Georgetown, St Johns, Nova and all the others they rest who are not worth mentioning along with other strong basketball programs like Xavier, Dayton, Butler, St. Louis, etc.). By keeping the Big East "alive," they will only ruin the name of a conference that had some great years.

Watching them try to prop up this league for future use is like watching that former Hollywood starlet try to hold onto any youth she once had. Sure, in her day she was OK and served a purpose. Some nights she was great. But times has passed her by and she is the only one who doesn't know it. Sad.

Don't forget there is a back room agreement for Notre Dame to schedule one Big East team a year.

Wonder if Marrinatto noticed that the fine print specified one current or former Big East Team per year?
