John and Fran need to go

needs to surround himself with strong coordinators, and better teachers.

There are issues on his staff he needs to address.
The million dollar question is whether John agrees with this and expects Fran to make those changes.

Well keep him on as a fundraiser. His coaching hires and keeping Dino for 8 years have been atrocious decision. He hired Autry when any sane person would have started over. He took a flyer on a guy who has never been a coordinator and allowed him to bring in people with no experience. We got lucky with McCord now we are seeing the reality of having him learn on the job.
This Board is a joke! Coach Fran was a genius last year when he won 10 games...in one year, he goes from genius to..we should have never hired him...he got "LUCKY" with McCord! Things looked good...right up until Angeli got hurt.....For All Cuse fans...this end of the season is painful, but let's not trash HC Fran Brown. The reason this this season is tanking can be directly attributed to the Staff's miss on Ricky Collins!
Team Miss on QB's all the time, that doesn't make you a bad coach. The staff recognized their mistake in Collins...and went and got Angeli! Smart move. They didn't anticipate having to go to 3rd and 4th string freshman QB's to win P4 games. Not many Freshman QB's are ready to lead a team right out of High School. This will be a developmental year...Let's see what the next two seasons hold before we start judging Coach Fran!

How worried were you the first 4 games this year?

Fair question. Not worried. In particular, I thought Jeff adjusted the playbook well to leverage Steve's strengths on the intermediate routes. Recency bias, how does it work? LOL.

Chesney was my second choice behind Mullen. Chesney is more of a football coach, not just a recruiter. Hes 16-5 and had to replace roughly over 50 players his very first year at JMU.
Chesney brings in Sluka too who isn’t the car crashes we have now.

Bob can coach unlike the vibe boys we have now.

Yes. He has.

He had to exit two legends which is hard (Boeheim, Desko.)

Rebuild a modern approach to athletics. 1000%

End the Dino era and made a non-traditional hire in Fran Brown that netted a 10-3 season in year one!

This year sucks and Fran is not been Saban. But he will learn and as our recruiting gets better, the program is getting better.

I hope so. Fran seems to have quit on the team starting an e sport guy at qb

Sweet! It’s a season of one seasons now. I have no patience for this in this era

I like a lot of things Fran has done for the team and the school. He has been a big positive for the university. With that said it has rubbed me the wrong way what he is doing to Carney. Either play the kid our not but don’t screw him over by saying he doesn’t know the play book, does have a 3rd and 9 package or roll him out just to hand off the ball. It’s ridiculous and a bad look. Also, after the season he is going to have to make some hard choices on assistant coaches including ERob. Yes the qb situation killed the team but the D, oline and lack of innovation on O after the injury to Steve need to be addressed. Otherwise the same thing can happen next year.

way more to the carney story...

I know it’s a team issue but information would certainly allow everyone to understand the decisions being made towards Carney. Right now it is a bad look to a lot of fans.

Not every issue needs to be or should be public.

I think Fran is right guy and we all have said he is gonna learn on the job and he is. With Steve this isn’t even a talk. He now knows exactly what he needs for next year. Backup qb with experience, dline guys, oline coach, and sign Don Brown to co defensive c with ERob. We will be ok and Fran has this. We get greedy cause we won’t 10 games last year. Give Fran time.

I don’t think we should excuse Fran of scrutiny, I think he’s mishandled alot of things this season. But thinking we should fire him is insane. We won 10 games last season. We have a 5 star recruit committed. If Angeli doesn’t go down we’re continuing to sing his praises as we’ve likely only lost 2 games at this point. We shouldn’t fire Fran Brown because he whiffed on Rickie Collins and because 2 true freshman aren’t ready to play at this level. Fran isn’t a polished head coach, he was a career position coach who now has 1 and a half seasons under his belt as a head coach. I get the anger, I get the frustration, but let’s take a step back here.

It’s a bad look for diehards who actually know who he is. The average fan has no idea who he is. Also judging by the attendance Friday most causal fans don’t care. Season is over. Support whoever is playing and let’s move on

You’re all absolutely insane. Fran’s not the issue. Angeli got hurt in year 1 of Fran’s actual team rolling out. Bad luck of the draw. Move on to next year. I can’t believe anyone wants Fran gone
Certainly crazy to think he should be on the hot seat given last year and start to this year. Absolutely not crazy to be extremely discouraged with the last few weeks especially against UNC.

I simply refuse to throw my hands up and say “well, what can ya do when you lose your starter and don’t have another QB option!” I’m not saying I expect to win these games, either.

But 4/18 for 39 yards. At home?

It’s a complete joke and was disgraceful coaching, execution, and overall effort.

You make a shitload of coin to figure something competent out!

In my opinion, they realized they whiffed on Collins in the Spring then pulled off a great move by bringing in Angeli. Speculation time - by doing so - they pretty much punched Jakari’s ticket to the portal. Thats one whiff, and one guy who got pushed out because Fran didn’t agree with half our board who accepted we’d punt on 2025 and go all in on 2026.

Carney’s a project that puts us in no better position than the other guys. There’s probably plenty more to the story of why Fillardi went out there Friday. None of us really know why.

He put us in a position to compete this year and an injury killed us. Im discouraged but im not going to ignore all the evidence that shows this is nothing like the classic depressingly hopeless cuse.

Also - to other posters who are suggesting Vilari. He’ll never play another snap under center, and likely won’t hit the option again either like with Dino. He’s an NFL TE, they’re not going to put him in that position.

We already have proof he can win if he has the players. He needs to keep stacking talent on both sides of the ball. Nixon was great last year. He’s been worse this year, but anyone would struggle with these QB options.

Defensively, there is very little talent. The best players are the young guys, Samuels, Peal, Antoine, and Tremble. We are terrible up the middle with overall below average at LB and safety play. Robinson certainly hasn’t been impressive, but we don’t have the talent this year, and last season we didn’t have the size for the defense he wanted to run. I thought defense has been better since adding Don Brown, but still poor. I’d wish Robinson could focus more on recruiting, keep his titles, but add a co-DC that can either take over or help with schemes.

We all knew this was going to be a tough year. We got excited with the Clemson win and Steve’s performance through 3.5 games. I think if he’s healthy we have another 2 wins.

The team hasn’t quit either. You can tell when a team quits. This one hasn’t, which means the culture is there. They just don’t have the talent compared to last season.
If are QB didn't get Syracuse would have at least 6- 7 win. Going to a bowl game. Relax. This team is so young!!!

Of course not (insert 'Captain Obvious').

However, if you are going to say chit that your QB doesn't know the playbook well enough, doesn't have various packages he can handle (3rd & 9, etc.) at this stage of season, etc., then you reap what you sow. Fran showed his greenhorn level experience as the head guy by saying what he did versus saying something different, or nothing at all. It's on him...he owns it.

Nothing this team does is giving me hope we are building toward anything next year. Theres gonna be a mass portal exodus and Angellli isn’t leading this roster to a playoff
To go from a mass portal exodus to stating Angeli is not going to lead us to a playoff... I definitely do not agree, And by the way North Carolina has a top 15 recruiting class with their record. I bet on Fran and the team all day. We knew we were thin to begin with, then we had significant injuries and prior to all of that most predictions were at best at the very very very very best 7 and 5 with so called expert discussion prior to the season if we did a lot worse than that do not jump ship because we are still rebuilding and facing the number one strength of schedule nationwide. Any grace because the crabbers all got blessed last year as well as those with actual realistic expectations concerning rebuilding this program. To go from massive extremes after the Clemson win to where we are right now? really a great case study and how things can go wrong, I hope we do not treat our children such as this with a degree of success then utter failure that was probably just the curve and certainly much more applicable to most of our everyday lives who are adults? Do we realize what is truly occurring objectively and assist or do we follow the ways of the world and crush and then end up with a damaged product that potentially can never recover because of literally unrealistic and literally borderline pathologic expectations. My gosh I am extrapolating to real life circumstances. At least I hope so for myself and my children, with also I trust beautiful community impact. My hope is that you buy Seasons tickets and actually contribute to NIL because we need you, Rational thoughts?

That makes sense because really nothing else does.
So then, I guess let it go, for the sake of the kid while still building him up publicly and privately right? We do know that public thing will never occur around these parts...
