To go from a mass portal exodus to stating Angeli is not going to lead us to a playoff... I definitely do not agree, And by the way North Carolina has a top 15 recruiting class with their record. I bet on Fran and the team all day. We knew we were thin to begin with, then we had significant injuries and prior to all of that most predictions were at best at the very very very very best 7 and 5 with so called expert discussion prior to the season if we did a lot worse than that do not jump ship because we are still rebuilding and facing the number one strength of schedule nationwide. Any grace because the crabbers all got blessed last year as well as those with actual realistic expectations concerning rebuilding this program. To go from massive extremes after the Clemson win to where we are right now? really a great case study and how things can go wrong, I hope we do not treat our children such as this with a degree of success then utter failure that was probably just the curve and certainly much more applicable to most of our everyday lives who are adults? Do we realize what is truly occurring objectively and assist or do we follow the ways of the world and crush and then end up with a damaged product that potentially can never recover because of literally unrealistic and literally borderline pathologic expectations. My gosh I am extrapolating to real life circumstances. At least I hope so for myself and my children, with also I trust beautiful community impact. My hope is that you buy Seasons tickets and actually contribute to NIL because we need you, Rational thoughts?
Absolutely, I agree — supporting Syracuse through NIL and season tickets is critical. This program isn’t just about wins and losses; it’s about building a foundation for the players, the staff, and the community. By contributing, fans can help give players the resources they need to develop on and off the field, and create opportunities that directly impact their futures.

Okay. Who exactly would take the Syracuse football job after we fire a coach that just last year went 10-3. At Syracuse. I'll answer that. No one any good. We would look like fools. We can't keep firing coaches and think it is all them. There is no question in my mind that if Angeli doesn't get hurt, we win at least 6 games this year and that was about as good as it could get. No matter if Saban was coaching here. Now, Fran has a lot to learn about being a head coach. I won't argue against that. But the single most important thing, he is very good at. Getting good players. He can learn the rest. Someone above said, let's get a guy that only gets 3 star kids but coaches them up. That, would be the end of the program. Why? Because change is coming. Either we are taken to the new world or we will be left behind. And a 3 star program is 100% going to be left behind. Right now, we have the A.D. who has enough respect and connections to get us looked at for the next wave coming. Hopefully, Fran makes that leap and we make it all the way. Next year will be telling.

Exactly, dash.

Do we have some big question marks? Absolutely. And a few more every week. But a 10-win season followed by losing your very good QB are major Get Out of Jail Free cards.

Fran can lose all of our remaining games (and may well do that) but he isn’t going anywhere this year.

The jury is still out on him longer term, but nobody is getting fired…or at least nobody with the title Head Coach.

He’s not getting fired.

But ALOT of people would want a shot. You guys make it sound like no coordinator or hc ar a lower level wouldn’t want the pay raise and opportunity?

I’m sure we could corral Chesney tomorrow. I’m sure Mora at UConn too. Probably even Marrone 2.0. Not suggesting this just saying we are being hyperbolic thinking we wouldn’t attract a hc

I am a STH yes. I have no idea what you’re blabbering about, but the Clemson win really wasn’t that impressive when you look at Clemsons record. This team barely beat UConn and realistically would’ve ended up at 6 or 7 wins which we all would’ve taken. The issue is that we had such a huge drop off from QB1 to QB2. That can’t happen at the p4 level, especially when you’re paying what we paid Rickie

I didn't say no one would want it. I said no one any good would want it. No one with options would want it. Go to a place where they just fired a coach who in their first year went 10-3? And was recruiting better than anyone else has in 40 years at the school. Yeah, I'm going to uproot my family for that.

Fran can recruit but so what? Give me a coach that knows how to scheme a football team and do our best with the 3 stars he can get in here.
We had a coach that knew how to scheme and coached up 3 stars. His name was Doug Marrone and he went 25-25 here.

And Doug never won 10 games nor had a ranked team.

And I heavily appreciate his contribution here, but those are facts.

Chesney can and will get a better job. Plus I think I saw a quote suggesting he wasn't overly impressed with the way the process went down.

And he screwed us over when he went to Buffalo with half our staff. And it was too late to do a proper coaching search which left us with Shafer. Saint Doug indeed

Well, I didn’t say that. My point is simply that he won’t get fired this year.

I have lost a lot of confidence in him, although I hope he can restore it next year.

He jumped two levels from position coach to head coach. Then he made the rookie mistake of not surrounding himself with experienced coordinators.

Last year, we were 14th defensively in the ACc and currently 16th

When Fran is retained, AW is going to have to lay down a multitude of serious expectations.

All I know is college football is a complete disaster. Auburn fires High Freeze today in his third year. 15 million buyout. Whole thing is a joke. He can buy a lot of nice beds with that cash out lol
We’re not the SEC. That will never happen here.

John has absolutely done a horrible job. Keeping and extending Dino. Hiring autry over a national search. Choosing Fran over bob. This is what we will get next year.

If he wasn’t an alum, he wouldn’t have lasted. Fran preaches accountability. Where is it? We have a lax player playing division one at qb and starting. Accountability? We are LAST in run defense. We have had 3 delay of game penalties today. 0 completions in the first half. Yes, you read that correctly. Keeping Robinson as the d coordinator? Did I mention we are last in the acc in run defense?

I think we already missed the boat on the next wave unfortunately. Rutgers shoehorned their way in and they’ll be the “New York” team going forward for the big ten. The SEC doesn’t need a north east presence since it’s frankly the much weaker area support wise. We folded on sports under chancy Nancy, missed the early big ten boat and that screwed us. I want to believe we can find a way to make us attractive but I can’t imagine either do the big 2 will want to split money with us. I also think you have the private school issue which will always be a negative. They’ll take Pitt, Louisville, Miami, etc over us all day.

What did we pay Rickie?
I don’t know the exact number but it’s definitely 6 figures. Anything was a mistake. Terrible talent evaluation. To give Fran the benefit of the doubt he was an unknown due to lack of game experience and once they brought him here and saw what they had they brought Steve in. In the future, we should always have at least 2 “knowns” at QB, even if there’s an expected drop off
