Doesn’t add anything except a loss scholarship spot
Spot on.Stop it.
A pure point guard is exactly the type a point guard Kadary Richmond is.
Somebody can run a fast break, has length to play the top of the zone, can beat his guy off the dribble in the half court , and make an occasional shot outside of the paint as well.
It’s not hard to get the point. It doesn’t matter if we recruited Richmond to play three positions we found a pure point guars that’s all that matters.
Do it again. More guards like him the better off we’ll be
Gotcha Bees. And i agree, most saw him as a combo at Brewster, until later in the season anyway. To me, from the first tape I watched, his skill set screamed PG. I know that's easy to say after the fact, but some here can back me on that. Doesn't really matter. His skill set coming in was pure PG, IMO. And he repeatedly proved that on the court.when we started our recruitment of him. I’m not sure he played any in HS and only started playing it when at Brewster and still some analysts called him a combo and griffin said he could play 3 positions for SU. That doesn’t fit people’s definition of a pure PG although that’s what he became for the most part.
There’s one big difference. SU is not Duke.Grayson Allen was Duke’s 4th guard in 2015.
Tyus Jones, Matt Jones, Quinn Cook were Duke’s top 3 guards.
They don’t beat Wisconsin in the NC game without the scoring he did late in the game.
So sorry SWC your statement isn’t correct.

You found one example. Impressive. That isn’t the point.
A poster said a 4th guard never was the reason a NC was won.
That wasn’t true.
MCW played 10 minutes a game as a point guard on a 30-1 team.
He wasn’t out playing shooting guard.
Ok, back to JBA only.
His first time at the pg position in the few games they played at Brewster in a Covid shortened year. He was a small forward coming out of high school, one service had him as a SG who really wasn’t a shooter. It was considered his biggest weakness. Preseason, Coach AG said they planned to work with him on his shooting but his ability to get by his man, his ability to drive, feed teammates, length in defense were currently his biggest assets. He played point at Brewster

Class of 2020 SU hoops recruit Kadary Richmond: 'He's crafty, athletic'
The Brewster Academy guard will join Class of 2020 classmate Woody Newton in Syracuse next year.www.syracuse.com

Baylor had 4 good guards who each made a difference throughout the season...You found one example. Impressive.
No one said that.Baylor had 4 good guards who each made a difference throughout the season...
are you really trying to argue that more than 3 guards is a problem????

You mean to tell me Alsacs’ example wasn’t even valid? Such a shame. No we are just saying that in this new era of a wide-open transfer portal anybody good will be looking for a place to start. You can't stockpile talent any more. A fourth guard in a two guard system is much more likely tob e like Howard Washington than Grayson Allen.
Duke in 2015 started three guards: Allen was the first guard off the bench. Baylor last year had 9 players play 10 minutes a game. Two of them were forwards and the rest were all guards:

We will start two guards next year, have a third guard in the rotation and the fourth guard will be an 'emergency' guy who we might need to give us a good 5 minutes in a couple of games. Who can we get to come here for that role.
And, no it won't be John Bol.
