We will find out with actual games being played, but I think we would have seen much more dramatic turnover if they thought it was a talent issue. Again, I’m not going to say I know this will work or that will work, but when I give takes on this board I’m trying to provide analysis of the information available to try and share what I think they are trying to do.

For the most part, they have added players with experience and productivity, even if from a lower level. I like that paradigm shift. I think we will have some impact guys from that list. But we will have to see how that plays out to know for sure.

Yeah I see no obstacles, Fran should have zero problems getting Rueben Bain Jr to not go to the NFL and transfer to Syracuse, Malachi Toney to transfer here, and Caleb Downs to not go to the NFL and transfer to Syracuse. We will see if they add anyone else, but even if they don’t, how about they develop and coach up the guys the have here to make names for themselves, that’s a crazy concept.

That I agree with you on. Other guys were clearly prioritized, but I would imagine if he was in the top 5 of prioritizing to retain based on the accounts of his love for Syracuse, he would’ve been retained. There is not pushing someone out, but not really putting priority into ensuring they don’t leave. Which is what seemed to have happened here. I know you’re not ok with it, I personally am less concerned because I like the other pieces in the receiver room and trust the staff to develop receivers. The receiver success will highly be determined on the QB and offensive line.

Toney didn’t prove anything for Miami either and he’s a darling. Calvin is legit. He will have a big impact at WR (I hope). Others could too.

We said the same thing last season. Oh my god meeks gadsden pena all gone. Our WR core is screwed….

Then before Angeli got hurt it it looked exactly like what we had with McCord in 2024

There's only so much money to go around. Syracuse isn't Miami or Ohio State, there's not unlimited NIL funds. If you wanna set up an NIL deal for 500K+ im sure we can get the next guy who wants a payday to stay.
