Fran did Montanez right by featuring him in the spring game so he would have the film. And Montanez did his part by taking advantage of that opportunity. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see him get a scholarship to a mid major.

Lawyer for the NCAA was quoted as rejecting Justice Wilkins recommendation that current athletes be grandfathered in against the roster limit stating that many programs have already made adjustments to conform to the 105 limit.
I would expect all but two or three walkons to follow suit and enter the portal this week. Would be foolish not to if they want to continue playing football.
I think Montanez may have earned a roster spot this spring, but with Nixon coming back he would have been in a dogfight for RB3 at best.

Oh yeah Fran seems like when he gives the talk to people he does try to take care of them as well,
I believe he has the best interest of all his players, even the ones he has to have the rough talk with.

He wasn't playing beyond special teams. Fran did his best to help him during the spring game
