Interesting. Guarantee he has people in his ear down there... let's hope we can make one final push at the end and seal the deal, or that Morris/Lynch/Parris talk to him too.

Good for him. He'd better be sure he wants to come here, or else he'll end up a wet blanket.

Damn. I think he still ends up here tho.

WEB Definition for committed: bound or obligated, as under a pledge to a particular cause, action, or attitude;
Teenager's Definition for committed: 1) maybe 2) thinking about it if nothing better comes along 3) stuck as in, "they changed coaches and I am committed.

Hope he still ends up at SU, but not the end of the world if he doesn't.

I think Mizzou is going to get destroyed in the SEC - but being SEC certainly helps them in this case.

Agreed. verbals are verbals espcieally when it comes to 18 year old kids, not sweating it eitherway. The time to review a recruiting class is signing day when all are accounted for

Based on the article, looks like we can take Malachi out of the recruiting database.

I wonder how I would react if I had to go through this process - at 18.

These days I have a hard time choosing what kind of toothpaste to buy!

I hope he comes to Syracuse University - it seems like a very good fit.

mnaley would be a HUGE loss and I will cry for about 3 months..

It seemed like we just scored a huge victory over all these BCS schools and we just still might, however I dont wanna missou to give him the "Blue Chips" treatment.

What I don't get it is why do you commit if you are not 100% sure - these kids drive people nuts. At least we didn't have to live through the Gunter Kiel madness.

I guess he was worried we'd fill his spot and he'd wanted to lock it up while still looking.

Well there is a bit to a lot of pressure put on these kids my most coaches typically. Doesn't sound that Syracuse plays a hard hand here but many do. Tough for a kid to say no sometimes right after a good visit, then the next day another assistant from another schools gets in their ear, and says why don't you just come visit, make sure, we have a lot to offer etc etc. Again, tough to say no and so it goes. Most 18 year old kids also like the travel, new campuses, etc. Early signing period would help a lot. Absolutely nothing wrong with what Manley is doing, IMO and I don't fault him one bit

Take Chris Herron, he verbally committed to every school he visited including Syracuse because he hated to say no to anyone and anything for that matter. The coaches, the money, and the systeam are more to blame than the kids, it's a very dirty business even for those who try to stay clean

On another note is it kosher for Saban and his assistant to be going to workouts of potential junior recruits?? For some reason I thought that coaches couldn't watch recruits workout. Or maybe it is have them privately workout? Anyone have thoughts or knowledge about this?

Manley appears to be visiting Mizzou with Thomason on the 27th. A little peer pressure maybe.

Jesus! He just "committed" too.
Paul Johnson would tell him to go fly a kite. He's got simple rules:
1. Don't commit until you're sure.
2. When you commit we reserve your spot in the class and may dial recruiting efforts back for other recruits at your position.
3. If your commitment goes soft you lose your spot.
4. If your commitment goes soft don't bother contacting us again.

Not sure we are at that point yet. Need to get there.
