Josh Miller "NOT" in the portal anymore

Not for nothing, but Fran mentioned in offensive line rotation the second half of the season that guys he wanted to make sure stuck around got reps. (Joe Cruz and Wohl seemed to fit the bill. Mack saw a lot of specials rotation as well.)

I need to check my numbers, but Miller appeared maybe once or twice all season.

Played against Holy Cross.

So did everyone else.

Mack is definitely looking like an option

Is it his market isn't what he hoped? Is it we haven't landed our top transfer targets and got to a point where we're looking at Miller-quality prospects? Maybe both? Maybe neither.

Thought Fran said he’d make sure guys who talked about portaling would leave. So much for cutting the head off the snake

What was his market, Kennesaw State? He’s never played.

I don't know. What was Naquil Betrand's market? Both have eerily similar trajectories. Both were high 3-star/fringe 4-star prospects out of high school who first committed to factories with a strong tradition of producing NFL linemen (Penn State and Texas A&M) only to upgrade to truly elite SEC schools with even stronger tradition of producing linemen (Georgia and Alabama). Neither saw the field. Both were attempting to transfer for the second time. Both have three years to play three seasons of eligibility. Betrand is bigger, for sure, but Miller isn't tiny. The idea that some other power 5 school might at least kick the tires on Miller isn't so far-fetched.

Not what he said. He just wants kids that plan to enter the portal to do it the right way. He mentioned specifically kids that were talking about it in the locker room, saying how they plan to leave, he implied it could effect the team culture they’re trying to build and that’s where the snake comment came in.

Bertrand’s market I’m sure was limited and wasn’t great. If he is getting any money, it’s minimum wage. He was removed from the Alabama roster in October so he wasn’t even on a team for the second half of this season.

Not every kid is a fit everywhere. If Fran wants a player I am pretty sure he thinks he can help him develop. The tough part is when they leave after they develop and are ready to help. That, however is to the reality of college sports today.

nice clarification haze. it's important

Look Fran could have been talking about Miller butya gotta know he is good if a kid comes too him like a man and says coach i was wrong and i will make it right. Everyone makes mistakes. Its how anyone learns.
