JUCO 5* DE Chris Martin

Currently attending his second JUCO and 4th college, the staff is giving him a serious look. Originally committed to Florida, then flipped to Cal, then left Cal after a few days, transferred to UF, and eventually left after a misdemeanor for possession of weed and went to JUCO. A very interesting case but a ton of talent.

We have offered, as well as Pitt, SDSU, Wazzu, and Kansas. KState's also giving him a look. Current leader is Wazzu, where he recently visited.

He's currently at City College of San Francisco, where old friend Dom Timbers went if I remember correctly. Would be our first 5* recruit (albeit 3 years late), 2 years to play 2.

Hilliard won't make it and having a lethal pass rush can hide a lot of problems on a defense. EO isn't exactly a lock either, lol. I like being able to shuffle people around and give different looks to the offense, keep 'em guessing ala Giants.

We don't even know the status with Poncho ... we can't be choosers at this point when it comes to 5* talent ... if he wants to come and terrorize ACC QBs who are we to say no.

Final overall Rivals ranking out of HS was #18. I'm seeing we have a solid shot if we want him. Possibly visiting. This would be huge.

Firstly, I hope his personal issues are in order. Secondly, this would be a great get. From day one he would probably be our best DE. We do have our share of JUCO DL from california.

Get him on campus and turn our "West of the Mississippi gang" after him. Originally out of CO, might have a relationship with AAM.

Seems like a player with his baggage could prosper under DM's leadership.

Trejo is not better than him. Hilliard is not coming. Martin would be here before Poncho. Brewster and Robinson are good. Who is Jordon? I think Simmons/Manley will get a shot in the spring too. But this kid coming here would be big, big news.

Well if she is a pass rushing specialist and can sack EJ Manuel give her a damn helmet! Since SU is now moving to the ACC he would have to transfer to MSU or Michigan to complete his hockey quest ... or have The Great One sign him to a deal with the Kings ...

If he's qualified academically and he's cleaned up his act, sign him the $%#% up. Whenever we have an opportunity to snag elite talent, we should be falling all over ourselves to try to get it.

Misdemeanor possession...let's be honest. Sales did basically the same thing (although his brother took the fall) and he was back in a year after doing his penance. Hunt commits a misdemeanor theft and he's back after doing his penance. Marrone clearly is willing to give his own guys a second chance, so why not this guy?
