An OT's 40 might indicate quickness on a pull or lateral pass protection. Its not an entirely worthless stat in their cases.

Lateral pass protection has nothing to do with your 40 time ... you don't run the 40 laterally ... and as stated above if he is going 40 yards on a pull he either decided not to throw a single block and just head down field or our RB is so far down field that I think it would be safe to assume we have picked up at least 10 yards ... try watching the combine and see the 40 times for some of the big OLs that get selected early ... honestly.
