Juli mugged at Destiny

Greece Ridge mall in Rochester is post apocalyptic if you believe the rumors. I wouldn't know, i believe then enough to not prove them wrong
It was very bad back in 2008 when we lived in Rochester. I can only imagine how much worse it's gotten since then.

That’s the end of that mall. It’s been on life support, this will end it.
In an odd way, there may be some good that comes of it. Julie B. may just be high profile enough to get attention on the problem and force the hand of the mall and the city to tighten up security and policing…. And hit people with real punishments. It has to stop.

Years ago my wife was held up at gunpoint in CA, like Juli, just after entering a car. She was traumatized and unable to go to work. We both now have AZ concealed carry permits but we do not carry. In AK everyone has the right to concealed carry.
There is a story about a court case where the liberal judge told the defendent who shot the robber that he cared more for his property than he did for the perp. No, it's the other way around. The perp cared more for the victims property than he did for his own safety.
Going back to John Locke, private property is the foundation of a civil society. To take someones property should be a very serious offense with consequent punishment.

Unfortunately, my kids love Applebees so we eat there whenever we're traveling because it's a safe bet. But my thought is if you have X number of dollars to spend, isn't it better to support a locally-owned restaurant that's part of the fabric of your community as opposed to a soulless chain?

Of course, but there is still a place for chains. If I want some dang endless apps I’m not going to Hoynes.

Applebees is the Georgetown of chain restaurants.

It appears we’ve reached the “Throw Hootie under the bus” portion of our discussion of Juli Boeheim’s mugging. Naturally.

Hootie was a perfectly cromulent band for the 2 years they were popular.

We happened to see them play at MSG, and they (amazingly!) had John Hiatt opening for them.

Darius Rucker’s banter regarding him was reverential, to the point where it was clear he was a little awestruck and embarrassed that Hiatt was opening for them, and not the other way around.

Juli is always so friendly and engaging with anyone who approaches her. I’m sure this will change that, and you can’t blame her at all.
I hope she signs up for target practice and a carry license. Short of that a taser at least.

I wonder if she's had fantasies of being able to shoot the 12 year old. (I'm sure Jim has.)
Play stupid games win stupid prizes. If it came down an assailant or me I have no problem pulling the trigger.

I was in the mall last night to see a movie. Got there early sat in my car at the carousel enterance for about 45 minutes then walked in up the escalators through the food courts and went to my movie.
Walked out around 6 I think never once did I feel feel threatened, maybe it’s because I don’t care anymore.
I do go to the mall to go to usually with movies as well. That’s the only reasons i do go in I think.

And it’s ironic I got my own broken rib from an assault, that happened over a month ago, and the person that did it was a 15 year old.
