Just watched 5 seconds of...

I don't think I have ever been bothered by commercials the way some people on this board are. I can hit the mute button or change the channel for 30 seconds if it bothered me THAT much.

Not me.

I need a steady diet of Jerry’s Carpets, Gianelli sausage, Billy Fucillo and Cole Muffler commercials to keep the juices flowin’.

Anything less is uncivilized.

The Carrier dome is very well known in every corner of this country, to college sports fans. I can see the reason Maryland desperately wanted out of the ACC.
The ab$olute, primary rea$on for Maryland'$ deci$ion to e$cape from member$hip in the ACC i$ not a$ you $tate. Their athletic$ program wa$ a$toundedly $hort of fund$ and the B1G promi$ed them a $tuffton of BTN ca$h if they $witched. And, $ince the pre$ident of Maryland had formerly been provo$t (I believe) at Michigan, they made the $witch. The favorati$m toward the Carolina $chools wa$ a peeve, not a rea$on.

what are you hinting at here?

I don't know, but his constant misuse of the uppercase s is very disheartening to this part time virtual first grade teacher/full time company employee.

I wa$ aware of Maryland$ financial $trait$. I still find it troubling that a league which has a network dedicated to all things ACC sports (With a lot of fru-fru filler content) doesn't think it's coverage worthy when a full member expends a large sum of money to upgrade its facilities and improve the perception of the league.

I honestly find this/similar takes perplexing. We as fans should be just about eternally grateful that the ACC gave us the gift of a lifetime, that is, inclusion into the conference. Who knows where SU would be today had it not happened, quite possibly in the same realm as UConn? SU football prior to the invite had been abysmal, it's a good thing those powers that be thought SU would be worth it, mainly because of the perceived TV market/viewers, etc. And, without the huge conference revenue winfall from such inclusion (compared to the Big East), it's quite likely that many of these much needed and long overdue upgrades most probably don't happen.

So, you finding this "troubling" is somewhat amusing, in my opinion, compared to the world of hurt/trouble SU would've been in without the invite. Bless the ACC is what I say.

They didn't invite Syracuse for charities sake out of the goodness of their hearts. They knew full well that Syracuse draws eyeballs and would be a good revenue maker for the conference. I remember when Syracuse was an independant before the creation of the BigEast football conference and was a rising power who struck fear into the big power factory schools. Orange football helped to legitimize the BE as a football conference. I didn't think the BE did SU any favors then and actually drained some of the Oranges mystique away. And it seems the current league looks at SU as a tolerated guest. Had SU and the other BE football programs stuck together and created their own all-sports league like the American, they would be in a better position to succeed. Maybe the ACC would have been picked apart and the new league could have added some of the remains. Don't know, but I don't buy into the idea that Syracuse should be down on their knees thanking the ACC for saving them from irrelevance.
