Justin Barron: Senior Bowl

I hope he sticks somewhere. He's tough enough. But will he be big & strong enough?
I think he's going to have to go the FA route.
Remember folks, Sean Tucker didn't get drafted. A lot of really good guys don't get drafted.
I don’t know Barron has the height and frame to put on size that can easily get him to 240. That with his ability to drop back in coverage is highly coveted in today’s NFL. I really think he kept his weight low because he prepared this season to play the STAR position. He ended up moving to LB out of necessity. If he focused on putting on size his frame can easily manage it. Can easily play special teams as well. I can see him going in 6 or 7th round.

I see him as pretty much a strong safety in the NFL. He would also be great on special teams.

I don’t think he has the speed for that. At least at the Reese bowl he’s been practicing strictly at LB.

But didn't Sean Tucker have a heart valve issue that created uncertainty right at the worst time (in the 1-2 months before the draft)? I'm not saying JB is a guaranteed draft pick, just not sure ST is analogous.
Yeah. It also didn't allow him to participate in the typical scouting stuff like the all-star games and combine.

DC Elijah Robinson said that Barron was a mix of John Lynch and Brian Urlacher, I agree with that.
Potentially could be a steal in late rounds, some of these late round guys do not have any versatility.
Thats what sets Barron apart.

Barron had a tendency to attract personal foul calls. Sometimes its a boneheaded play...sometimes its an intense player that just missed a big play & if they can dial that in mentally...thats the seperation between getting cut or making $$$.

For the most part I think Barron is the intense player.
Edit:
& OMG I just watched some John Lynch highlights bc i mentioned him here and he was 1 of my favorite players...In todays NFL, he would have gotten a targeting call every game.
& Thats ok bc he played by the rules then. In websters dictionary there is a picture of John Lynch, Larry Csonka and Dick Butkus instead of a wordy definition for football player.

* What other players deserve to have their picture there?

Neither the pillar of citizenship off the field. I know that's not your point, but it was the first thing that popped into my head when seeing those names together. I'm just glad that you didn't add Rae Carruth to that list.
