Absolutely, both guys should understand their roles in this and they should BOTH apologize. Gard should not have stopped Howard and Howard shouldn’t have reacted like that. They are the leaders of young men, and both failed.

I don't get why people have to try and make a moral equivalence. In retrospect it wasn't the smartest for Gard to try to explain what happened to Howard, but he was clearly not trying to start a fight.

So to me it's crazy that the school let him do the press conference. The AD should have cancelled it and bit the bullet. You don't give the person who does that a platform immediately after the action. Honestly the AD should have gone in the locker room after and told him he was suspended until a review took place. Put the assistant coach in charge, unless of course he punched someone also.

JB can go off on a reporter but worst he ever behaved on the court was the Duke jacket on a terrible charge. That wasn’t too bad either.
I am hard on JB but he would never do what Howard or Gard did.

Boo hoo! He was more mad at Wisconsin than himself and his team in a double digit loss because Gard called a timeout when Howard decided to full court press Gard’s subs at the end of the game? This Howard guy has issues, his reaction was just very visible and public proof of it. Personally I think Gard had more reason to be upset than Howard. Michigan lost by 14 points - he preferred to lose by 11 or 12 instead?
