So is there a head coach yet and it’s just being withheld ? Or there isn’t one yet?
I thought the same until I picked up my daughter's stick to play catch. Night and day.
Does "hardnose" work in women's Lax...you breath on an offensive player the wrong way, they get rewarded with a free shot.
Give them real helmets (with a hole for their ponytails) and allow a bit more physicality...not to the men's level but more than now.
Helmets are optional in WLAX. If you want to wear one, be my guest!IMO, the Women’s game needs helmets!
The Women’s Ice Hockey team wears them, why not Women’s Lacrosse?
I think we are one litigation away from having Helmets mandated. It’s just inevitable.IMO, the Women’s game needs helmets!

I don’t want anyone “learning on the job” again as the program needs a solid HC that has done it after the KT experience.FYI:
Regy Thorpe wrapped up his third season as an assistant coach at the University of Florida at the conclusion of the 2024 campaign and was promoted to Associate Head Coach On July 1, 2024. He will continue to run the Gators' defense as he enters his fourth season apart of the coaching staff.
During the 2024 season, Thorpe helped anchor the Gators defense to the seventh best scoring defense in the country, as they allowed just 8.52 goals per game. Florida held opposing teams to just a .350 shooting percentage, while having 17 games of less than 10 goals allowed and five games of five or less. Two members of the Gators defense were awarded All-AAC honors in Kaitlyn Davies and Theresa Bragg, with Davies receiving IWLCA All- South Region honors as well. Thorpe was apart of the American Athletic Conference Coaching Staff of the Year and the IWLCA South Region Coaching Staff of the Year. The Gators finished the season with a 20-3 record, getting to their second Final Four in program history.
Prior to his time in Pittsburgh, Thorpe spent a season as the New York Riptide head coach and general manager in the National Lacrosse League. Before joining the Riptide, he spent a decade with the Syracuse women’s lacrosse team as the associate head coach, where he led the squad to numerous team and individual accolades.
While with the Orange, Thorpe coached and mentored 21 IWLCA All-Americans, six IWLCA Players of the Year and six Tewaaraton Trophy Finalists. He saw Syracuse make nine NCAA Tournament appearances, including six Final Fours and two championship finals. He left the Orange with a 158-62 record (.718).
During his time with Syracuse and the Riptide, Thorpe also served as the head coach of the U.S. Lacrosse Indoor Box Lacrosse World Team (2019. 2024). He also acts as the Chief Lacrosse Officer for 3DLacrosse.
Thorpe spent a year as the head coach of the Long Island Sound of the United Women’s Lacrosse League and led them to an undefeated season and championship in 2017.
What are you even talking about? Please don’t waist my time with foolish comments!Helmets are optional in WLAX. If you want to wear one, be my guest!
That sounds good!Fiery, rah rah, big pregame speeches and definitely a players coach. Would probably bring “hardnosed” style. Players love him and he is a constant on the recruiting circuit. Think of Gait, then picture the opposite. Thats Regy.
I’m really starting to think we won’t hear anything until Tuesday. If it is an assistant like Regy they may out of respect to their current program not leave until the portal closes which is Monday to make sure they don’t create a panic exodus after they leaveThat sounds good!
Doesn’t matter. Players have 30 days to enter portal after a coaching change.I’m really starting to think we won’t hear anything until Tuesday. does that apply to an assistant? if not, that may be whyDoesn’t matter. Players have 30 days to enter portal after a coaching change.
Not with an assistantDoesn’t matter. Players have 30 days to enter portal after a coaching change.
based on what i was told from a family member of a current player there, that would not surprise me. he's very well liked in the locker room.I’m really starting to think we won’t hear anything until Tuesday. If it is an assistant like Regy they may out of respect to their current program not leave until the portal closes which is Monday to make sure they don’t create a panic exodus after they leave
Good question! So is there a head coach yet and it’s just being withheld ? Or there isn’t one yet?
Has the field been narrowed any like. Top 2 or 3There has not been a coach hired as of this morning. It would be epically stupid to wait until Tuesday to announce a hiring. Syracuse has 35 or so girls on 25/26 roster, 8 or 9 players in the portal and needs additional players this fall. We should be announcing this with time for the assistant coach to bring players with them if those players so chose. Dumb.
Brent went on record just before Kayla was named the SU HC that she was not going to be hired by Syracuse (there were lots of rumors it was happening) and would be staying at BC.If you believe Brent Axe it’s Regy Thorpe’s job if he wants it.Tumulo declined to interview other names were Spallina Danielle Spencer and Erica Bamford. Who knows the validity of this
Yes he’s not well liked / sourced within the AD.Brent went on record just before Kayla was named the SU HC that she was not going to be hired by Syracuse (there were lots of rumors it was happening) and would be staying at BC.
I would not bank on anything he says.
