It wouldn't surprise me if the search takes some time. After all, who would be better to be part of the interview process than Gait. And he's a bit busy right now.
I'm sure he's had a chat with JW about this.
He'll be available to help in the second round of interviews starting next Wednesday.

After what went down with her im shocked she was even allowed to keep her job to begin with
Can someone tell me where to look as to what happened or can someone give me the short story if possible

Hey Gait-- think you can fix the bridge between SU and Spallina? Pretty pretty please??? :) :)

I find this to be very sad, she was a great player and advocate for SU. I do think that a person in their 20's hasn't fully realized who they want to be and what they want out of life yet too. I wish Treanor the absolute best at Penn State.

I wonder if Kayla’s contract was up in June this year and maybe Wildhack gave her the option to find a new home. It would make sense if they were trying to avoid a lawsuit over firing her so instead waited until her contract was up

As it relates to your North idea, personally it would be my preference to go with an experienced head coach. Not saying a rookie can't be successful and the BC and Northwestern programs are definitely ones to model, but just my preference.
No worries. I mention North because she is the biggest name in the game and it would make a huge splash and could reenergize the program.

I don't know if there are enough good coaches available to find someone who can outcoach the coaches at BC & NW. So, if you cannot do that, then out recruit them.

It's all fairy wishes though. Let's see what Wildhack does. I hope he goes big.

If the team had made it to the Final Four then it could've been a different story.
Sorry to see all of this happen.

Hoping that the program can be rebooted and finally get a national championship.

Pretty much all laid out here in bits and pieces. I don't have a problem with the actual act, but how it all happened, and it did involve players who knew, and probably affected how the team played in the FF. You can't pull your personal affairs into the threads of your team and your coaching.

I am going to doubt this came out of the blue for Wildhack. I am sure it has been known for a while, and probably he was involved in pointing towards the door, and I bet they have already been talking to prospective candidates.

I wish I could feel this way but she has now set the program back for atleast 2-3 years barring a miracle. I think she is immensely talented I defended her countless times on here and I was wrong. I don’t see how anyone can argue she is anything but incredibly selfish she came to SU claiming she was going to bring more discipline to this team. Instead she chose to have an affair with one of her coaches you can’t tell me she was putting her team first on any level. Meanwhile this took place at the final four. She had a year to prove herself and either willingly chose to leave the school she claimed to love or failed to show the administration she had changed enough to get another shot. Either way no one is bigger then the program and it is time to move forward

I have followed the program since it started but no personal involvement. Like I said I was a huge fan of hers as a player and coach unfortunately she chose poorly and instead of pushing the program over the hump to a championship she has set it back to probably a pre Gary Gait level and I can’t help but feel like she betrayed the people who helped get her to this level of coaching

hard to argue with this. And I say this as someone who advocated for her to get the job. It’s disappointing all around. But Im glad JW ensured this ended in a somewhat amicable way given it could have been way worse.

I'm still just a friend who chooses not to judge choices that many people make throughout their lifetimes. I wish you nothing but the best in yours.

I think she was treated extremely well. And deservedly so, given her history as a great player and the credible job she did. This outcome is probably the best that could be imagined for all concerned. That being said, it's time to get that coach who can finally move this already great program to the very highest level.

Just seeing this after now after seeing Syracuse . Com.

But is Spallina actually realistic? Anyone able to comment if it is a possibility. ?

Another name tossed out on fanlax

Shes a CBA grad but a poster pointed out her husband is the AD at UMass so that distance might not work out.
This is the name I was going to throw out there. What she has done at Yale is incredible. From skaneateles and all her immediate family is still in the area. She played for UNC and Team USA.

The one big caveat as you mentioned, she married an AD that is right down the road from Yale. Not sure it would work out due to that distance. But she’s such a great person and unbelievably competitive. She would be a homerun hire.
