According to the PS number changes article, Moore is switching from 87 to 79.

Dcuse mentioned a month or two ago that Batten was switching to LB and Moore was switching to OL.

We already know about Batten and this seems to prove the rumor about Moore.

Very curious move if true.

If Moore is switching to the OL, it must be a recent development because Coach Acosta specifically mentioned him as an important member of his group of five. Without Moore, that leaves only 2 scholarship TE's on the roster...Parris and Provo.

I also noticed on the recently released spring depth chart that Moore was down to 248 lbs. If he moves to OL he might need to take his red shirt to add weight.

Maybe a yet to be named player has switched to TE.

If true I hope he gets a redshirt year to bulk up. Kid could be a great lineman!

Yeah he looks really skinny. If the plan was for him to play oline, he would have been bulking up.

can AAM play TE in a pinch? perhaps we just plan on going with extra lineman when needed and worry less about actual 3 TE type sets to throw the ball.

TE's won't be utilized as much moving forward in McD's offense. Moore's move to OL would not surprise me, but I haven't heard anything concrete.

All of the moving pieces don't add up for me. The whole thing is baffling. Adding Acosta as a Tight End coach, Enoicy and Custis both signalling they've been told/sold playing receiver, and now Moore's weight loss and number change (79 is an ineligible number, correct?). Is anyone else mystified as to What is going on?

Syracuse football mailbag: As spring practice nears, is Kendall Moore moving to the offensive line?

There have been rumors that K. Moore was switching to OL. With the number change, is this happening? And if so, why has he lost weight?

Kendall Moore is among those who are wearing a new uniform this year, but I don't believe it corresponds to a position change.
Moore will continue to take reps at tight end. At 6-foot-5, 248 pounds, the sophomore is a bit undersized to contribute as an everyday lineman.

So, why the change to an ineligible number?

Couldn't have asked that question any better myself. Oh, wait...

the tight end position in general has me confused. when we added Batten in 2013 and targeted a pass catching te like Chris Clark i was under the assumption McDonald was going to use the position like New England does. i'm wondering if he had a chance in philosophy?

if McDonald plans to use the TE's as we did last year that could explain Batten's move to OLB. or it could be we needed bodies at OLB for Spring Ball so that was behind the move, then he would come back to TE in the Fall to give us a 3 deep? Lots of questions are still left to be answered.
