Kenny Carter dismissed from program

Unfortunately, this possibility has been being discussed for awhile. Was hoping he could get it together.

These guys can't get out of their own way. World of opportunity in this position group, I've never seen anything like this. Between injuries and dismissals, this is mind boggling

It is a shame. I was hoping he would get his act together.

3, maybe only 2, practices in.
I'm sure he had a chance to adjust his attitude, but apparently chose not to.

For his sake, I hope he finds a coaching staff that he clicks with and can get him pointed in the right direction.
After failing with two different staffs within a few months the odds are not looking good for him. His story of his upbringing makes this a sad ending to his career here. I wish him well going forward

yup some of us knew this was coming for awhile. Wish the kid luck the rest of the way. Came from a tough part of NJ and we all know the risks of recruiting in those areas (high risk high reward). Gabe you better jump on board. It would be incredibly not smart if you didnt.

Given all the dismissals, it seems as if Shafer let a lot of nonsense go on. Given his rep as a player's coach, it's understandable but it will likely hurt the rebuilding project in the short term. It's like we've gone back in time to 2009.

I don't think that's accurate at all. I think Shafer and Babers are similar enough.

I don't know. It's probably a case of trying to salvage the guys that you brought on moreso than anything. Baber's walks in, he's not in a position to even want to hand out third and fourth chances because these aren't his guys. He hasn't invested anything into them.

When you invest 1 or 2 years in recruiting a player and then a redshirt year too, that's a lot of time invested just to cut bait. When you haven't done that, I think it's a lot easier to let go. I'll be curious to see 2-3 years down the road how Babers handles the kids that his staff recruited. I think only then we'll get a real feel for his approach on this subject.

Oh my god, they killed Kenny.

Good point. That makes sense to me.

Double standards aren't exactly team building.....erects a wall between Baber's kids and Shafers kids. They are ALL Baber's kids now and should be treated the same!

I thought that Shafer was recruiting all high character guys, and he didn't want someone like Chris Clark being a bad influence. I get that there are 85 guys on the roster so you're going to have your bad eggs, but we're having quite the off season.

Chris Clark is a completely different situation and not at all someone you want on your roster.

The first two dismissals would've been the exact same situation with HCSS. They were already suspended and would've befallen the same fate with him as they did with Dino when they acquired the next strike.

The guidelines had already been set, it was just a matter of how far down the road they had traveled when the coaching transition took place.
