I believe it is a similar role to the DFO at WMU.

In 2005, Knox resumed his duties as the director of football operations. In this role he handles every logistical facet of team travel during the season and during the Broncos' recruiting periods.

He handles all aspects of the program's summer football camps during the off-season and his work with NFL scouts and high school coaches is a large piece of the Broncos' success in both areas during his time with the University. Five former Broncos have been drafted during Knox's time with the Brown & Gold - Louis Delmas and EJ Biggers (2009), Greg Jennings and Tony Scheffler (2006) and Jason Babin (2004), WMU's only first round selection.
