Why would the SEC even want them anymore?

Thing is, they were screwed either way. Little chance they win out in the SEC after Travis went down and even if he didn't, the schedule is so much more of a grind. So if they do get invited and jump, it's going to be that much harder to even get this close.

Alabama's miracle 4th down against Auburn was the difference between 4 and 5. In the SEC, they'd have at least 1 loss, if not 2 in their best year.

None of it matters though for a few reasons. Next year is 12 teams. And the teams care less about the playoff access than they do about more $$$. It's always more $ first, everything else 2nd.

Schedule is fixed we have a new coach and there’s no power team FSU and Clemson are now down. This is really gonna screw FSU for next season.

They weren't omitted because they are in the ACC. They were omitted because once Travis got hurt their offense sucked and still does. Record counts but so does the win viability. Without Travis they are not even top 10.

It is about crowning a national champion. FSU had 0% chance at winning without their QB. So put in someone that has a chance?

Sticking FSU in there to lose by 50 to UM or UGA doesn't help the perception of the ACC. Yes the conference is losing some money but FSU getting embarrassed is the alternative.

Doesn’t matter, look at last year when Cincinnati got in, they deserved to be there as does Fla st does this year. Hard to punish a team on a hypothetical matchup. You have no idea how the game will go.
