KingJoseph Edwards "not" in the portal

Had a total knee replacement 9 years ago now (hard to believe), and it is so much better! I had had 6 knee operations, and there was nothing left per the surgeon. Should have done it earlier. The first 3 weeks are "rough", but it is worth it eventually. Hang in there! Hope you get better quickly!

Just tell me its all worth it
It will be, here’s the line we all in the doc/ortho world say to our patients that is inferred above.

The first couple of weeks to a month post op you’ll be saying “why did I do it!”, and then thereafter you’ll be saying “why did I wait so long!”

Hang in there marsh, you’ll be on the other side of this before you know it.

I guess we'll see.

I had no idea Fran did a year at HVCC as a cornerback out of HS in 2002 before transferring via LOI to Western Carolina U in 2003.

Sounds like Fran had to get his grades in order as well...
That's where I graduated, I grew up around the corner from there as well.

My Grandfather was the Bursar at HVCC in the 50's and 60's and I also had other that family worked there. My nephews went to La Salle next door for HS and took college courses their during their highschool senior years as well. It's the biggest CC in upstate NY.

This thread's awesome. Come for KJE, stay for the high school rivalries and knee replacement surgeries.
heres a couple of other unsolicited helpful hints for those dealing with creaky knees....

walk down stairs sideways to backwards holding on to the railing for support as it'll take a tremendous amount of pressure off the knees/less painful as result, etc., and...

don't become reliant on OTC NSAIDS like advil, etc., short term use only for days not weeks or months because while they're helping with the pain believe it or not they make the problem/arthritis worse! I know crazy…..but true

I had an infection in my leg for a bit, but fixed that up with antibiotics. More importantly, I had to go back a month later because the PT couldn't get my knee to bend past like 100 degrees. Just wouldn't go. So, had to go back under for the docs to break the scar tissue from around my knee. No problems ever since. I asked the pre-op nurse what it's like and she said "your doc and another will take opposite ends of your leg and force the it to bend. It will sound like bones breaking but only takes them a few minutes to do it". Fortunately, I was under so I didn't have to feel or hear "sounds like bones breaking". lol

I don't want to read anything into this because I have no idea. However, interesting to me he says D1 football rather than Syracuse and the head coach rather than Fran. Distancing himself?

That didn't even cross my mind. No idea either but it sucks a kid who is obviously dealing with something has to read rumors and gossip about himself on Socials.

Yup - it's a weird time with NIL now and the fact that these kids are essentially very young professionals now.

Yet he's still a young kid trying to figure it all out and work through whatever adversity he's dealing with that has precluded him from being here, NIL or not.

And to his credit, he's not even shying away from "professional" moniker:

I hope he does what he needs to do at HVCC and bounces back to D1 (wherever it may be.)

Agreed, I think hes handling it very well and keeping his priority in line.

Some people need discipline.

Some need a reality check witnessesing it from a peer.

Some need to lose a little bit themselves.

Hope he comes back if Fran wants him back; I'm cool with it.
