Kline exposes Autry's flaws

Another reason for Bells backwards step this year is bc no one can beat their man off the dribble like Judah could. That freed up a lot of fastbreak 3s and a lot of help D situations to free up Bell. He was wide open a lot last year. This year not so much
Predictable, no?

This new world of renting transient young men for a short period of time is new for most of us, you however are a veteran trailblazer

Fair, but he’s been here 3 years and he’s still the same player skill wise. I would have thought he would have figured out how to at least play in the mid range by now and have a Demetris Nichols like progression. We’ve seen nothing new from his game.

Carlos is tiny and shot .318 from 3 playing on a team in the coastal athletic conference

Lampkin had 34 blocks at tcu and Colorado

Davis shot 246 from three at Delaware

Taylor was 11th on the Georgia State team in defensive rating

This is three minutes of work

I know these aren't first choices but given who you already have, what in the hell are they doing?

Kline or pretty much anyone in that role will have to be helpful but autry has still got to go, the guy making millions is going to still decide and he might be as bad at roster building as he is at lineups

How can you know how to defend other teams if you're this bad at knowing what you need?
But we lost an assistant coach and had nobody to support our head coach or the rest of the full-time staff members in evaluating everything!!!!

A lot of people more or less thought Lampkin was going to be a bust in May and were shutdown for being negative. We needed a rim protector with our inability to stop any dribble penetration.
Call me crazy but I was optimistic that Eddie and Naheem were gonna be a good tandem.
I assumed Mcleod would be giving us more minutes and more defense. Lampkin is doing exactly what I thought he would...averaging a double double in ACC play.

We ended up overpaying and for the wrong position... but Eddie is not a bust. Anyone insinuating Eddie is a bust should be shutdown for being negative.

Our other option was to overpay for Dakota Leffew...would we be a better team with Dakota plus a bargain center or with Eddie and Jaquan C.?
We will never know but Id bet on not a big difference...

Call me really crazy if you want but for as much as Jaquan struggled early~ due to misuse~ I would take him next year if it was possible.

No. They gave him that mush money because they saw that they were really hurt by not having a low post threat.

That was misguided.

His percentage of FT attempts per FG attempts has tripled since last year. Which tells me he at least drives to the basket a lot more.

I guess, but not lately. In the last 10 games he's only had more than 2 FT attempts once, and that was 6 in a 3 OT game.

11-11 against TT was certainly a high water mark.

This staff is simply bad at talent evaluation and putting together a coherent roster.

We could go player-by-player for all of their acquisitions over the past 2 years. Everyone they've brought to SU has massive flaws. And the pieces haven't fit together in way that mitigates those flaws. In fact, it has seemed to exacerbate them.

Looking at the season as a whole. But yea not as much recently but still conference games only it’s .318 vs .188.

If you put Richmond and Cisse on this team they are what? 15-11? The problem isn’t only talent. Look at Virginia Tech, they lost a ton of players because of NIL. They are close to 500 on the league and getting better every month. Young is an outstanding coach and Mike Jones is damn good too. I don't see a path to success with Autry as the head coach.
what? an elite PG and a good rim protector would only be worth like 2 more wins? are u smoking somthin?

this would be a tournament team with kadary and cisse...even with the bad coaching.

And that .318, with the exception of Cuffe, is better than everyone except big men Freeman, Petar, Lampkin and McLeod. Our other wings and guards don’t draw enough fouls.

Now it all makes sense- this season was doomed from the start.

We got MUSHED!

It's crazy cuz I look at rosters from top 25 teams and there are many players from nys that never even sniff coming here.

Well, Starling can get to the rim. His absence hurt Bell's game.

You probably noticed that Bell is shooting better now that Starling is back. In fact, he is shooting 47.3% from three since the Louisville game.

It probably helps that he's coming off the bench and isn't worried about the quick hook.

Of course, we have still lost 8 of those 11 games.

We might be around 16-11 if Starling and Freeman did not get hurt. Add those two guys and we would be a tourney team.

LOL...replacing who? Carlos and Naheem? We would be 3rd in ACC.
You minimize how the strengths of some players drastically improve the play of others.
