Who said he was getting that extra year?fixed it for you.

for visual reference the NCAA is MutomboSo, there's seems to be a little rewriting of history in this thread. McCord's waiver of eligibility was rejected. For those struggling with this, rejected means denied, declined, disallowed, nixed, etc. He did NOT have another year of eligibility in his pocket.
He was in the midst of appealing the eligibility decision when he declared for the draft. Once he declared, the appeal process ended. There is no reason to believe his appeal would have changed things.
So, the thoughts that Kyle could have just waltzed back to the starting lineup at Syracuse are misguided.

Corrected is a strong word.He was corrected offline.
We just left this up, because why not?
He’d have made 5X of that with the waiver and stayed![]()
Eagles’ QB Kyle McCord gets $234,000 contract update after setting Syracuse records | Sporting News
All's well that ends well for McCord.www.sportingnews.com
$234,000 salary, if he remains on practice squad all season (18 weeks).
Yeah, but that's not horrible for a kid 1 year out of school lolHe’d have made 5X of that with the waiver and stayed
Barron has that Mr. Beast smile.
To confirm there is/was confirmation he had the waiver? I thought I read that waiver actually never came through? He’d have made 5X of that with the waiver and stayed

Thanks that is what I thought. So 5x nil vs practice squad pay was not actually a decision he necessarily had to make.It did NOT.
It wasn’t announced until long after he had declared, that the NCAA didn’t approve his request for a waiver.
So no - he did NOT have the option to return for another year.
