he's probably ready to move on with his life. Being in purgatory doesn't help him focus at all. Put yourself in his shoes. He wants to start training in earnest and getting ready for the draft. That is a job in of itselfCurious. Did he get another year, or was he tired of waiting and pulled the trigger?
No insight but I think he got the year and decided to go. Pete says “not continue to pursue another year” but I just think there was too much smoke about the appeal getting approved.Curious. Did he get another year, or was he tired of waiting and pulled the trigger?

It's a super weak draft class. He'd have been crazy to pass up the option to climb up the boards with strong workouts and interviews.Curious. Did he get another year, or was he tired of waiting and pulled the trigger?
Not sure if we'll ever know the truth to that. Based on who posted that the waiver got approved, I'm going to believe it was actually approved. It's easier to come out and say they are still waiting and it looks better on the program and doesn't make as many people pissed at McCord.Curious. IOW he's up to the second round impressing whomever he needed to and needs to impress. Makes sensePete Thamel

McCord told ESPN: “With the way everything played itself out and what I’m hearing in terms of feedback at the draft, it just makes sense to go, after weighing all the options out.”
Even if we already know that reality deep down, maybe it’s better to save this sentiment for… idk… a few days after we’ve had a chance to digest this kick to the groin.really rough. This off season has been rough for us. No one wants to hear that but so far, that is the truth. 247 has our recruiting class in the 50's. A drop from the year before. Our portal guys have been a disappointment. At least to me. And now, we have had OG, Allen both leave with a year remaining (don't blame them but if they came back, would have been wonderful) and now McCord. With our schedule, if we can get 6 wins, and have a lot returning the following year, call that a win.
I don't get the Milroe hype, at all.
Cam Ward & Sanders, sure.
Ewers = not overly impressed.
Beck = injured. worth the gamble??
Dart = legit, but he's apparently trying appeal for another year?
So, they have Kyle as basically late 3rd round / early 4th range.
Does he gamble that that's his floor, or what if it's his ceiling??
Not an easy decision to make. Either way.
I’ll go with Pete Thamel saying he didn’t hear over Internet postersNot sure if we'll ever know the truth to that.
