Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

How are mock drafts generated? What I mean is, where are they getting their data, and how much of it is parroting one another versus inside feedback from GMs?

Outside of first round or two, most mock drafts are just dart boards. Nobody knows anything. They drive conversation but nothing else.

All it takes is one team having him as the fourth highest QB for him to go in second or third round. Seems like Dart is a safe bet to go in the first round based on most chatter.

Guys like Kiper and NFL network insiders get fed BS from team sources. Some internet Joe Schmo has no sources. Mocks are a giant waste of time IMO

Why is McCord so undervalued; is it the lack of dual threat, Cuse bias, or a combination of both?

I think it’s largely a ‘cuse bias, ACC bias and the Pitt game. That’s not to say other QB’s don’t have bad games but when you add in the bias towards SU and the ACC, then you draw the conclusion a good QB can never have a bad game. Only other QB’s rated higher are allowed that leniency. I think there’s some concern about his ability to move in the pocket and avoid pressure. For right or wrong. But I don’t think it’s b/c he’s not a dual threat. Ultimately teams want a guy that can play the QB position. Dual threat or not. Look at Justin fields, amazing runner but not an NFL QB. The guy can’t read a defense to save his life and can’t go through any of his progressions at any speed required to be a good NFL QB.

The Athletic writers just did a full mock draft. They have Kyle going to the Jets in the 5th round. They had 6-7 QBs going before him.

You can't tell me Shough and Howard are better prospects than Kyle. Field Yates had them both as SECOND ROUNDERS.

None of these guys watch games, they watch 15 mins of tape
Howard being mocked ahead of McCord is crazy. He's not even a good thrower for college

I wonder where he would be drafted if his Junior season was at Cuse and his Senior season was at Ohio State. Same results at each school, just flip the order.

I love the press for Kyle, not that it means anything for NFL GM’s. But Gruden’s QB series is just a series of reach arounds. He likes every QB and even previous guys that failed miserably in the NFL, Gruden loved them before they were drafted. It’s a b.s. series.
It's still fun to watch and a ton of good publicity for Cuse. I remember the one with Nassib and it was great.
