Kyle McCord: Waived by Eagles

Never said he didn't but he also takes chances and sometimes got tunnel vision.

Post 3 of the above thread posted by one of the most respected posters on the board mentioned one. It took a 10 sec search to find it. I'm not looking up anymore to prove a point to someone that's wearing blinders.

Just because I'm objective does not mean I dislike McCord.
This is one of the VERY few critques of Kyle's game that has some legitimacy.

Lucky for us PFF tracks this actual stat and calls it 'turnover worthy plays' which is all turnovers, plus the plays that should be been turnovers but the defense didnt execute (dropped int for example). Kyle was dead middle of the pack for all P4 QBs. For Kyle middle of the pack is a bad ranking.

Kyle was near or at the top for many many categories (big time throws %, total big time throws, completions > 20 yards, adjusted comp %, Time to throw (lowest), performance under pressure, performance under blitz.

This is in addition to all the physical stats I have posted that were taken at the Shrine Bowl game at the end of the year (velocity, spin rate, spiral % etc)

But, being prone to give it away to the other team (in a effort/trade off with making big plays)/throws) is definitely something I know he will be working on as a priority. You heard in his Gruden interview how he had 200+ passes without a pick after the Pitt debacle, which means he was a aware of it and made it a priority.

I didn't know the PFF numbers but it's essentially what I said in my previous post (132). He has a bunch of NFL abilities with that one flaw that can be corrected. And he lacks the athletic ability many teams seek now. He's got a shot. If he ends up being a good starter, I won't be surprised.

I'm not a jersey person, but I am contemplating buying jerseys of each of our drafted players.

Ho-kay, hear me out. The Saints' Derek Carr announced his retirement today. They need a QB, either a starter or a backup for that 25-year-old guy from Louisville.

The Saints' coach is former Iggles' OC Kellen Moore. Iggles' backup Tanner McKee performed admirably when he started the last game of the season against the NYGiants.

If the Birds can get a primo asset, say, a #2 for McKee, do you think...?

I've made it abundantly clear this kills me as a Giants fan, but the Eagles seem to be the team that understood there are a lot of reasons why McCord was the nation's leading passer.
And meanwhile Daboll and company have all but crowned Dart as the next Eli.. a huge miscalculation imo.

Hard to say that before they get on the field. Drafting QBs is such a crapshoot.

There setting him up to be the starter right away. When you trade up for someone and you are on the hot seat. You can’t go down before giving your big move pick a chance. This either hits fast or is very bad for all parties involved. Will be interesting to watch.

Saints might wait for next year’s draft for local guy (and son of their offense coordinator) Garrett Nussmeier. Either him or former Saint Archie Manning’s grandson Arch.

Giants would offer up Jaimeis or Russ for pick.

If they ban the tush push and Jalen gets banged up. I could see McCord pushing him and maybe taking over after an injury in 2026 and never looking back. What makes Jalen great is knowing his limitations and maximizing what he is good at. He isn't the passer that McCord is. So far they haven't needed him to be though.

Hurts's strength isn't just limited to the tush push. He's a mobile guy that can pick up good yardage on the ground. If injuries ever hander that, he'll be vulnerable.

I'm all for anything that helps Kyle, but banning the tush push would be ridiculous. If teams don't like it, don't let the other team sniff your goal line to begin with.

I don't know the rules now but when I officiated high school football aiding the runner was a penalty. If you're going to allow the tush push, which I find ridiculous, then why not get a small female gymnast to play running back and have 2 players pick her up with the ball and throw her over the line of scrimmage?

Imagine what she could do while still in the air before sticking her landing!

I'd pay to see that.

Simone Biles, COME ON DOWN!

Mike Leach almost did this with, I believe the term is, a "little person".
