Thought this was interesting. Records since 2000, which admittedly is an arbitrary point to start, but I figure let's just go with the new millennium -- and save the crap about the millennium not really starting until 2001, I had a party on 12/31/99 and that's all that matters...

Won-Loss Record Since 2000

Virginia Tech 127-44
Florida State 114-54
Miami 112-50
Louisville 106-55
Clemson 105-60
Georgia Tech 100-66

Nice stat, though in all fairness, 'Ville hasn't played nearly the level of competition that the ACC schools have.

Through 2004, they played in Conference USA... Not exactly murderer's row.

And from 2005 on, a very watered-down Big East.

You think the ACC is decidedly tougher competition?

Really?

Thanks for not including the Syracuse record in that timeframe.

if we take that 13 year period...and slide in grobbys 4 year loss total of 37, it doesnt look that unordinary...:noidea:

Than Conference USA... Yes, without a doubt. (NOTE: From 2000 through 2004 - 5 years - Louisville played in Conf USA)

And from 2005 on, name 3 schools in the Big East who were consistently as strong (on a national level) as VA Tech, Clemson and Florida State (ACC top tier) And remember Louisville doesn't count because they can't play themselves.

With the trio above, I'll give you WVU and that's it.

Then there's the second tier of ACC schools from 2005 on (Miami, GA Tech, and Wake - yes, Wake)

With this group, I'll give you Rutgers, Pitt and Cincy from the BE as "comparable" competition - so it's a "push" here with this group.

But the 3rd tier is where the ACC wins in a landslide. (NC State, UNC, UVA, and Maryland) After you take WVU, Pitt, Rutgers and Cincy out of the equation, there's just one BE team that's comparable, on a national level, to the ACC's 3rd tier since 2005 - USF.

UCONN and SU simply don't have the wins over that span.

Again, since Louisville couldn't play against themselves, they've played a much easier schedule than the ACC schools you listed have since 2000.
