St. Johns might have a few good seasons, & maybe even grab another Final Four from time to time, but they can never compare themselves equally with the likes of Syracuse.

It's like trying to compare our football program to Alabama or Texas...

Unless you're referring to the NIT Final Four, it's extremely unlikely that SJU will ever get to another Final Four. Chris Mullen isn't walking through that door.

Just by memory, I don't think SJU has even made the Sweet 16 in the past 15 to 20 years.

People also forget that BC had a few great years in football and basketball in the ACC. Basketball couldn't keep it up and they made the most idiotic move ever and fired Jagz. BC's current situation has nothing to do with the ACC and everything to do with the fact that BC historically is a program that does not have sustained success in football and basketball.

Some of these douche bags act like only SU fans drink, cheer, do chants, jump up and down, etc. Put 15k SJU fans in there and have SJU win in a rout. agree every fan base is like this...were not the only ones...some people are overly sensitive I guess.

Who would have thought reading the "Redmen" message board would be more entertaining than the game! Here are the things I learned from reading that thread:

For the next few years we are not going to recruit. At least I assume that is what is planned since they are going to be getting really good and we aren't.

Along with purchasing a gun there also needs to be a background check for ticket purchasers to weed out those pesky Syracuse fans.

When things go really bad for St. John's fans they have a few glasses of wine.

I would agree that SJU is on the rise. Harkless could leave after this year and be in the top 15 picks. Lavin probably recruits with his wife. They'll be a fine program for the foreseeable future

I hope we continue to schedule St. John's every year after we leave the Big East. I hope their fans know that Syracuse really had no choice- God, look at the Big East we are leaving behind. Georgetown at the Garden would be pretty sweet too, post Big East.
